Adecco Professional Finance & Insurance is partnering with a client in search of an Accountant.  This is a temporary opportunity with a multinational organization in Bridgewater, NJ.  In this role you will be reporting to the Senior Manager, Finance Business Partner. 

The Accountant prepares and reviews timely and accurate financial information for each division of the organization including, preparation and/or review of journal entries; preparation and/or review of monthly fluctuation analysis; communications with divisions to gather necessary explanations for all material variances and support for accruals; identification and calculation of month-end accruals; preparation and/or review of balance sheet account reconciliations. This role participates in internal, external, and JSOX audits. This position is also responsible for the preparation of the forecast and budget for the assigned areas.

Responsibilities for the Accoutnant include but are not limited to:

  • Partner with assigned business units to achieving financial objectives through forecasting requirements, scheduling expenditures, analyzing variances, and initiating corrective actions 
  • Obtain a thorough understanding of each division’s business issues, budget and forecasted data and actual results of operations by working closely with division management
  • Maintain the organization's general ledger, tracking assets, liabilities, expenses, and revenues for assigned business units 
  • Oversee monthly, quarterly, and annual accounting close for assigned business units 
  • Prepare and review monthly forecast and annual budget for assigned business areas 
  • Oversee the accurate, timely, and complete processing of all accounting transactions and coding to General Ledger
  • Prepare, review and analyze general ledger account reconciliations, journal entries, and accruals
  • Perform reconciliation of accounts to the general ledger and other accounts as assigned; ensure account reconciliations are performed monthly, and reconciling items are resolved on a timely basis
  • Monitor, maintain, and enhance internal accounting controls in relation to assigned Business units
  • Implement productivity, quality, and customer-service standards
  • Confirm financial status by monitoring revenue and expenses; coordinating the collection, consolidation, and evaluation of financial data; and preparing special reports for assigned business groups
  • Maintain accounting controls defining and updating accounting policies and procedures 
  • Resolve system Hyperion issues (as the first point of contact for Business units)
  • Assist with internal, external, and SOX audits, by working with the audit teams and periodic auditing of the organization's financial records and statements.
  • Provide audit team with analyses as needed
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Requirements for the Accountant include: 

  • Bachelor's Degree Accounting or Finance 
  • Minimum 8 years experience in public accounting
  • Experience in a corporate setting with multiple entities/divisions, providing accounting services for different business units
  • Experience, budgeting, planning, forecasting, and management reporting experience
  • Minimum 4 years -Experience working with SAP Accounting Modules
  • Experience working with Hyperion and SAP in the creation of analytical financial reporting
  • CPA - Certified Public Accountant preferred
  • MS Office Suite (MS Excel) Advanced 
  • MS Suite (Outlook, Word, PPT) Intermediate 
  • SAP and Hyperion Accounting Modules Intermediate 
  • Knowledge and application of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
    and internal controls procedures
  • Strong time management skills and ability to work within tight deadlines 
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills 
  • High sense of urgency, work ethic, and must be flexible 
  • Ability to identify and seek needed information/research skills
