Accountant

Our client is a startup coming from the World's Largest Search Engine. They build networks of balloons that fly around the globe on the stratospheric winds and provide Internet access to everyone below. We are searching for a motivated Accountant with functional responsibilities including, G/L accounting, Accounting operations (e.g., procure to pay process, order to cash process), as well as financial statement preparation and reporting. This person will gain an understanding of, drive change and implement policies and processes and contribute greatly to our business growth. The role is highly cross functional with access to and collaboration with Business Development, Operations. Supply Chain, Engineering, FP&A.



Overall Responsibilities

- Manage journal entries, GL account analysis, and reconciliations as part of the monthly close process

- Analyze financial information and prepare financial reports for Alphabet

- Manage and improve efficiencies for various operational tasks including the following: procurement process (i.e., purchase requisition, fixed assets, prepayments), order to cash process (e.g., billing, cash settlement), and various accruals

- Design and document internal controls, processes, policies and procedures and ensure SOX compliance

- Drive continuous improvement in various accounting and reporting processes to ensure business is adequately supported and processes/systems scale with our growth

- Implementation of accounting policies and internal controls

- Prepare ad-hoc reports and participate in special projects as necessary



Qualifications:

- Bachelor degree with concentration in Accounting

- 5+ years of relevant work experience

- Experience with scaling and automation of processes

- Experience with Procure to Pay ProcessĀ  (Candidates without this will be rejected)

- Experience in major ERP systems, such as Oracle and SAP.
