Accounting Assistant

Adecco is assisting a local client in recruiting for an Accounting Assistant in Rapid City, SD. This is for a temp to hire opportunity that will give you valuable experience to enhance your career. Responsibilities for this Accounting Assistant job include:

  • Operate computers programmed with accounting software to record, store, and analyze information
  • Purchase supplies and equipment as authorized by management
  • Check figures, and documents for correct entry, mathematical accuracy, and proper codes
  • Classify, record, and summarize numerical and financial data to compile and keep financial records, using journals and ledgers or computers
  • Pay supplier invoices in a timely manner
  • Debit, credit, and total accounts on computer spreadsheets and databases, using specialized accounting software
  • Comply with federal, state, and company policies, procedures, and regulations
  • Compile statistical, financial, accounting or auditing reports and tables pertaining to such matters as cash receipts, expenditures, accounts payable and receivable, and profits and losses
  • Reconcile or note and report discrepancies found in records
  • Write routine reports, correspondence, business letters and summaries
  • Assist with HR and the new employee on-boarding processes

Qualifications:

  • Associates Degree in Accounting or equivalent work experience
  • Two years’ experience in a general office environment
  • Follow safety precautions and rules
  • Strong proof reading skills for grammar and punctuation
  • Microsoft Word, Power Point and Excel at an intermediate level
  • Proficiency in QuickBooks and other Accounting software
  • Ability to communicate with clients through electronic forms including but not limited to email, web searching and data organization
  • Very high attention to detail and mathematical skills

This is a full-time opportunity with a Monday-Friday schedule. Pay for these positions are between $14 - $18/hr., depending on experience.
