Position: Accounting Assistant/Receivables IV
Job Location: Nashville, TN
Job Duration: 6 Months
Shift: Mon – Fri 8:00 am - 5:00 pm
Pay: 19.00 per hour

Position Summary:

Compute, classify, and record numerical data to keep financial records complete. Responsible for a wide range of technology and can work in areas closely related to computers. Typically has a High School diploma, at minimum, and experience with totaling accounts, computing interest charges, and monitoring loans and accounts for paid status.

Major job duties and responsibilities for this position will include the following:

* Classify, record, and summarize numerical and financial data to compile and keep financial records, using journals and ledgers or computers
* Calculate, prepare, and issue bills, invoices, account statements, and other financial statements according to established procedures
* Debit, credit, and total accounts on computer spreadsheets and databases, using specialized accounting software
* Check figures, postings and documents for correct entry, mathematical accuracy, and proper codes

Required Education, Experience & Skills:

* Minimum of a High School Diploma is required with an Associate Degree in accounting or related financial discipline being a plus
* 5-7 years financial and/or accounting experience required
* Verbal and written communication skills, attention to detail, and critical thinking
* Ability to work independently and manage one’s time
* Ability to apply accounting and mathematical principles to work as needed
* Knowledge of federal, state, and company policies, procedures and regulations as related to accounting
* Previous experience with computer applications, such as Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint, and any other related accounting software

Additional information from the manager:

* Direct feedback from manager on what they are doing: “We are not handling collections. We have a separate team for that. We are cleaning up unapplied cash so we are requesting remittance information from the customer. No other collection is involved. This is a huge cleanup project and each team has to work to clean as much as they can.”

* Candidates must also have strong Excel skills

* This is a Monday – Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM position. Manager can be a little flexible on the start and end times for this role.
