Accounting Clerk

A local leading organization is currently seeking experienced Accounting Clerks - Book Keeping Clerks - Auditing Clerks in Cheyenne, WY, for long-term temporary opportunities, with potential for permanent. Accounting Clerks compute, classify, and record numerical data to keep financial records complete. Perform any combination of routine calculating, posting, and verifying duties to obtain primary financial data for use in maintaining accounting records.  Also check the accuracy of figures, calculations, and postings pertaining to business transactions recorded by other workers.  If you meet the qualifications listed below – Apply Now!

Responsibilities for Accounting Clerks include but are not limited to the following:

  • Operate computers programmed with accounting software to record, store, and analyze information.
  • Check figures, postings, and documents for correct entry, mathematical accuracy, and proper codes.
  • Classify, record, and summarize numerical and financial data to compile and keep financial records, using journals and ledgers or computers.
  • Debit, credit, and total accounts on computer spreadsheets and databases, using specialized accounting software.
  • Operate 10-key calculators, typewriters, and copy machines to perform calculations and produce documents.
  • Review and approve department documents for Accounts Payable and Receivable.
  • Comply with federal, state, and company policies, procedures, and regulations.
  • Compile statistical, financial, accounting or auditing reports and tables pertaining to such matters as cash receipts, expenditures, accounts payable and receivable, and profits and losses.
  • Code documents according to company procedures.
  • Reconcile or note and report discrepancies found in records.


Candidates must meet the following requirements for consideration:

  • High School Diploma
  • 2-5 years of finance, budget, and account reconciliation experience
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills and computer skills to include MS Excel and Word, and experience utilizing financial or accounting software.

We have openings on Monday - Friday, 8 am - 5 pm.

Pay for these positions are $18.54/hour. These are temporary opportunities for approximately one year, but could lead to permanent opportunities.
