Accounting Clerk
Adecco is assisting a local client in Irvine, CA to help source for an Accounting Clerk candidate. This position is temp-to-hire and this client is a global company in the manufacturing industry. This individual will perform clerical duties of moderate complexity and scope in support of an accounting function with general supervision. The schedule is Monday-Friday, with a pay rate range of $16.00-$16.50/hour depending on experience.

 

Job Duties:

A/P Functions

  • Matches original invoices and requests for payments with internal purchase orders and receiving documents; performs calculations to determine appropriate payments schedules and amounts and makes modifications as necessary.
  • Input invoices into JDE software.
  • Prints accounts payable checks weekly.
  • Follows up on vendor statements and other discrepancies regarding payment of account. Serves as liaison between departments and vendors in the resolution of administrative problems and inquiries.
  • Produces months accounts payable reports and reconciliations.
  • Support manager by handling routine inquiries and problems. Refer significant problems to manager.
  • Prepare monthly sample re-class for Accounting Manager.

A/R Functions

  • Maintain A/R numeric (yellow copy) invoice file. Prepare report monthly for Accounting Manager.
  • Match payments to accounts receivable and enter data into a JDE system.
  • Prepare daily bank deposits and merchant account electronic deposits.
  • Produce accounts receivable reports and reconciliations as needed, including monthly general ledger reconciliation.
  • Assist accounting manager preparing credit memos by preparing paperwork and updating Excel spreadsheet.
  • Process credit card payments for sales orders.
  • Run periodic and special reports as requested.

Additional Duties:

  • Ordering office supplies as needed.
  • Book miscellaneous company travel as needed.
  • Occasionally support Human Resources basic clerical functions.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

  • Knowledge of basic accounts payable and accounts receivable procedures
  • Experience in computerized accounting software, ideally for a distributor or manufacturer using J.D. Edwards software.
  • Strong data entry and analytical skills.
  • Must know 10-key calculator by touch.
  • Must be a strong team player with ability to multitask and interface with various departments effectively.
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office Systems (Excel, Word, Outlook)
