Adecco is currently assisting a local client in recruiting for a qualified, detail-oriented Accounting Clerk in Rapid City, SD. This is an IMMEDIATE temp to hire opportunity that will give you valuable experience to enhance your career. Our client is currently seeking a candidate with a wide variety of experience in accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, bank reconciliation, inventory tracking and experience with local excise tax is preferred.

Responsibilities for the Accounting Clerk job include:

 

  • Operate computers programmed with accounting software to record, store, and analyze information
  • Check figures, and documents for correct entry, mathematical accuracy, and proper codes
  • Classify, record, and summarize numerical and financial data to compile and keep financial records, using journals and ledgers or computers
  • Pay supplier invoices in a timely manner
  • Debit, credit, and total accounts on computer spreadsheets and databases, using specialized accounting software
  • Comply with federal, state, and company policies, procedures, and regulations
  • Compile statistical, financial, accounting or auditing reports and tables pertaining to such matters as cash receipts, expenditures, accounts payable and receivable, and profits and losses
  • Reconcile or note and report discrepancies found in records
  • Write routine reports, correspondence, business letters and summaries
  • Other duties assigned by management

 

 

Requirements for the Accounting Clerk job include:

 

  • Associates Degree in accounting or equivalent work experience
  • Two years’ experience in a general office environment
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience with accounts payable and receivables
  • Must have 2-3 years’ experience with Microsoft Excel
  • Proficiency in QuickBooks and/or other Accounting software is preferred
  • Ability to communicate with clients through electronic forms including but not limited to email, web searching and data organization
  • High attention to detail and mathematical skills
  • Ability to work well in a team-based environment
