Job title: Accounting Specialist
Location: Austin, TX
Shift: 8am-5pm M-F
Pay Rate: Depending on experience
Contract length: 12 Months potentially longer

Position Scope:

The Accounting Specialist will be responsible for the timely and accurate processing, tracking, and reporting of Accounts Payable (AP) as well as expense report management.

A strong working knowledge of QuickBooks is required.

Primary Responsibilities:

Ensure transactions are recorded, documented, reviewed and supported in accordance with Company policies and generally accepted accounting principles
Manage and process AP transactions for processing payment of bills in a timely and accurate manner
Correspond with vendors and respond to inquiries
Process employee expense reports and ensure compliance with the Company’s travel and entertainment policy
Perform monthly reconciliations of the corporate credit card accounts
Generate various accrual estimates in association with the month close process
Identify and resolve any discrepancies in the accounting records
Additional duties as may be assigned


Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field preferred
1‐3 years related general accounting experience
QuickBooks experience required & experience preferred
Previous experience working in the Consumer Products Industry a plus
Knowledge of GAAP, accounts payable, and maintaining general ledgers
Excellent analytical and organizational skills
Ability to maintain a high level of accuracy in preparing and entering financial information
Ability to maintain confidentiality concerning financial and employee files
Excellent interpersonal, written/oral communication, including full competence with Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word and Outlook)
Demonstrated ability to excel in a hands‐on, fast paced entrepreneurial environment
Must have the ability to be successful in conditions which include multiple and sometimes conflicting priorities, extended work schedules, and demanding deadlines
