Accounting Supervisor


Adecco is in search of an Accounting Supervisor for a local credit union.  They will be responsible for the integration and accuracy of the general ledger system corporate-wide, overseeing the timely month-end close process and managing the general ledger account analysis on an individual, monthly, quarterly and annual basis. Implements policies and procedures to ensure all functions within the unit are completed in a timely and accurate manner. Manages a team.


Principal Duties and Responsibilities


Ensures the consistent, efficient, and accurate use of the general ledger for the corporate-wide reporting of all financial transactions.

Oversees general ledger structure and maintenance.

Ensures the efficient and appropriate automation of journal entries and interfaces, including but not limited to eliminating entries, standardize journal entries, etc.

Oversees the preparation, review and approval of journal entries based on completed analysis.

Oversees the timely month-end close preparation of GL-based financial statements and related reports; including balance sheets, income statements, fluctuation analyses, and budget vs. actual analysis.

Oversees the intercompany expense allocation analyses and invoicing and other complex analysis as needed.

Develops and maintains standardized policies and procedures that ensure timely and efficient completion of all duties within assigned area of responsibility.

Mentors and oversees staff.

Serves as a Corporate Finance & Accounting ambassador to other business entities and divisions.


Job Specifications (Skills, Knowledge and Abilities Required)

Bachelor's degree in Accounting

CPA preferred

Minimum of 7-10 years in financial services or banking

Minimum 3 years of supervisory experience

Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal

Ability and willing to work overtime during peak period

Strong aptitude with computer software (general ledger, MS Word, Windows, Excel, and database systems) is required

Strong customer service orientation balanced by a strong cost-consciousness

Ability to multi-task and work independently on daily basis

Strong organizational, managerial, mentoring, communication and leadership skills

Demonstrates initiative, good judgment and the ability to work collaboratively
