Responsibilities, Qualifications, & Details:                 

Assists in the development and production of the monthly and quarterly asset and debt valuations processes for a $120+ Billion Balance Sheet, including support for our SOX and related controls framework. 



Job Duties:

  • Review business and/or regulatory changes and accounting policies that may impact valuations and valuation processes
  • Responsible for governance of valuation policy, procedures, thresholds, SOX controls and processes, including review of 10K &10Q disclosures related to all fair value items
  • Accountable for current operations and projects as well as implementing strategic change towards the desired valuation practice competency at TFS
  • Perform and document the quarterly valuation processes using the tools and methodologies for finance receivables (wholesale, real estate and commercial loans), securitized assets (retail loans), investment securities, the debt portfolio and various other smaller assets and liabilities. These valuations are performed using a variety of systems to include Wall Street Suites, Numerix, Bloomberg and Excel spreadsheets for month-end and quarterly close
  • Review all valuations with relevant Treasury and Accounting Team Members to ensure reasonability and accuracy of marks used for the financial statements on a monthly and quarterly basis
  • Document and present the asset and debt valuations on a monthly and quarterly basis to executive management, senior management and the internal and external auditors
  • Develop and implement improvements to the current valuation processes to include building enhanced models to value the Assets and Debt


Required Qualifications:

  • Four-Year College Degree (BA or BS) in Economics, Finance, Mathematics or equivalent field
  • Advanced Degree (MBA or Master’s Degree in Economics, Finance, Mathematics or equivalent field) preferred
  • CFA and/or equivalent is a plus
  • Minimum of six (6) to eight (8) or more years of relevant financial services experience working with complex valuation models performing valuations
  • Banking industry experience or similar experience with financial institution required
  • Strong quantitative and analytical skills
  • MS Office (Advanced Excel – pivot tables, v-lookups, etc.)
  • Treasury Management System experience: Wallstreet Suite or similar highly preferred
  • Market Data providers: Bloomberg, Reuters, MarkIt, etc. highly preferred
  • Knowledge of SQL, VBA, .net a plus
  • Extensive programming experience a plus
  • Experience with valuing different types of financial instruments (Loans, securities, debt and derivatives)
  • Experience to complex financial and/or valuations system/modeling for large/complex debt/derivative portfolio
  • Experience working with derivative and asset valuation models, including ABS and other discounted cash flow-based models
  • Strong communication skills
  • Ability to effectively communicate with internal and external stakeholders (counterparties, vendors, auditors, etc.)
  • Operates with a sense of urgency
  • Organized with attention to detail
  • Collaborative and able to interact with various cross-functional groups
  • Flexible and adaptable



Pay Rate:  $65.00hr - $68.00hr DOE

Shift Start/End Time:  first shift/general business hours

Length of Assignment:  1 year
