We are currently seeking an experienced accounts payable clerk in Horseheads, NY for a 6 week assignment. The shift will be Monday-Friday 8-5. The pay will be negotiated based on experience.

 

This position is responsible for processing accounts payable transactions, including processing, verifying, and posting invoices according to established policies in an efficient, timely, and accurate manner.

 

Essential Functions 

  • Receive and / or download invoices and credit memos; match up to any open purchase orders in a timely manner.
  • Ensure the correct coding of invoices and credit memos and verify the correct authorization level has been obtained.
  • Efficiently and accurately enter invoices for payment into the ERP system, maintaining a systematic approach.
  • Make sure that due dates are recorded properly to meet timing deadlines and take advantage of any discount opportunities.
  • Receive and verify expense reports for reimbursement to employees.
  • Communicate in a professional manner with internal and external person(s) for invoice validation as needed.
  • Reconcile accounts and provide accurate and effective documentation records to Management as needed. 
  • Maintain confidentiality.

Competencies

  •  Strong computer skills; proficient in Microsoft Office products.
  • Monitor time management and priorities with minimal supervision.
  • Previous accounting, payables, and customer service experience required.
