Admini strative Assistant

Adecco is pleased to be assisting a rapidly-expanding provider of IT Financial Management & Technology Business Mgmt !

We are seeking an experienced full-time Administrative Assistant to work at the headquarters located in downtown Roanoke, Virginia. This position requires an ambitious, motivated self-starter with the ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.


Duties and Responsibilities

  • Organizational support – handle detailed research assignments/projects, ensure accuracy of the admin filing system, sort mail delivery, handle office errands, serve as an effective back-up to the other administrative staff, assist with travel arrangements, business luncheons, and meetings, maintain an accurate out of office schedule for staff
  • Time management – apply organizational and time management skills, ability to work independently under pressure to meet deadlines, flexibility to adapt to changing demands each day
  • Customer service – anticipate the needs of office staff, excel in continuous positive interaction when supporting various levels of staff inside and business contacts outside the organization
  • Problem solving – provide recommendations on improving common operating practices and processes for office staff
  • Housekeeping – address building maintenance issues with vendors, ordering and maintaining an adequate stock of all office supplies, assist with minimal janitorial tasks
  • Verbal/written communication – manage inbound telephone and email inquiries in a timely manner
  • Technical skills – responsible for maintenance of certain office equipment & appliances, oversee digital expense reporting & scanned document filing system
  • Accounting – manage all travel expense reports, account coding office expenses, prepare bank deposits, investigate and secure cost-saving measures in office purchases


  • Minimum of two years of administrative professional experience, preferably in the technology field
  • Must be adept in technology applications (SharePoint, PowerPoint, Outlook, Word and Excel)
  • Ability to strategically prioritize tasks in order of importance
  • Ability to anticipate the needs and take initiative to support the business
  • Being resourceful in getting tasks completed through creative thinking
  • Professional appearance and demeanor
  • Acute attention to detail
  • Associates Degree preferred but not required
