Responsible for the initial opening of workers' compensation claims for University Hospital. daily contact with PMA, wo are the Hird Party Administrators, that handle all workers' compensation claims on behalf of University Hospital, to monitor and discuss issues that may arise regarding any workers' compensation claims. Responsible for providing payroll with documentation on a bi-weekly basis regarding all employees who are out on Workers' compensation/SLI and or Temporary Disability due to their work related injury. Responsible for contacting Human Resources via e-mail, if an employee was determined by treating physician under workers' compensation to have a permanent restriction, due to a work related injury. When requested provide patient care services department with a copy of all incident reports, regarding work related injuries. Assists when needed in preparation of workers compensation cases for formal petitions against University Hospital. Scan all new workers' compensation claims to Third Party Administrators on a daily basis and maintain a coy for files. Contact with immediate supervisors, via e-mail and or telephone to discuss any issues that may arise regarding employees work related issues. When a new claim is opened information is put into share drive on comuter.
