Clinical Administrative Coordinator


The Clinical Administrative Coordinator provides administrative and clinical support. Position involves frequent interaction with clinical staff. The position is highly customer-service oriented and requires some clinical knowledge in addition to strong technical skills.


JOB DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Enter Authorization for Inpatient, Residential, and Partial Hospitalization admissions within expected turnaround times.
• Check and complete admit report daily, verifying the authorization request using portal view notes.
• Add days to a previous authorization on file.
• Assign new admissions cases to behavioral health clinician for clinical review
• Review daily reports via Microsoft Access database then entering an administrative note to document a stop payment for services due to benefit denials.
• Evaluate and modify Medicare authorizations that failed to transmit.
• Resolves and analyze failed authorizations
• Responds to questions from internal and external business partners.
• Process outpatient authorization request for specific accounts and facilities
• Resolve and analyze failed authorizations
• Investigate and resolve claims inquiries pending clinical review or action
• Enter clinical discharge data in various clinical systems


Required qualifications/experience:
• High School Diploma (Secondary Education Diploma or certification preferred)
• 1 + years of medical and/or behavioral claims processing or claims research experience
• Experience applying specific policies or standards to daily work to assure compliance with relevant
regulations.
• 2+ years of professional experience in an office setting using telephone and computer as the primary
instruments to perform the job duties
• Ability to pay close attention to detail and a tolerance for handling large amounts of data.
•Knowledge of HIPAA compliance
•Ability to create, edit, copy, send, and save documents, correspondence, presentations and
spreadsheets in Microsoft
•Experience with processing or researching claims according to the standard operating procedures
and job aids

Shift Start/End Time:
Must be able to work any shift between 8AM-6PM CST.
