POSITION: Property Tax Assistant
LOCATION: Cincinnati, OH (45202)
DURATION: temp-to-hire


Essential Job Functions:





Summary - Admin Support - Property Tax Department:

Support all the activities associated with the property tax functions including processing property tax payments, valuation notices, tax bills and assisting with the filing of property tax returns.



Essential Functions:
Assist with tracking all property tax bills, statements and valuation notices. Ensure all property tax bills have been received and are correct for all parcels and properties and enter data into the property tax system. Set up new properties in the system.
Assist with processing bills for payment. Prepare payment files for upload, review and approval utilizing the tax system. Acquire approvals for payments in accordance with internal control requirements
Assist supervisor with accruals and reconciliations of property tax accounts
Assist with the filing of property tax returns and loading property data into tax system
Assist with research and documenting taxability and valuation questions, audit information, tax rates, leasing data and jurisdictional information
Maintain property tax compliance (hard copy) files for all units and properties. File copies of bills, statements valuation notices, tax returns and correspondence in a logical sequence. Ensure that documentation in the file meet Tax Department and SOX 404 standard and requirements
Assist with documentation for SOX 404 internal and external audits
Under direction from supervisor, respond to internal requests for property tax information
Must be able to perform the essential functions of this position with or without reasonable accommodation

Education/Skillset Requirements:

2+ years of Accounting Assistant Experience
1 year in a secretarial/administrative support role. Experience with automated accounting and information processing systems
Must be organized and detail orientated.
Proficient in Microsoft Office applications: overall strong computer skills
Familiar with accounting practices
Strong attention to detail



Desired Education/Experience:
Corporate office administrative assistant experience
Experience with property tax software preferred
