Level of Role: Entry level, not a lot of experience in EHS is necessary, really focused on traits of being self-directed and able to work without direction, go getter and must have excellent interpersonal skills.

Job Summary:
The Contractor Management Specialist role is an entry level Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) role based at our client’s location in Louisville, KY. This role supports both the Sourcing and EHS teams for contractor safety management in conjunction with our third-party contractor management service provider.
This role will be responsible for working with our existing and new contractor and sub-contractor base, third-party contractor management service, environmental health and safety (EHS), sourcing teams and project engineers and leaders.
The key elements of contractor safety include: contractor prequalification, insurance monitoring, EHS written program review, site EHS orientation training at each site, auditing and infraction tracking. The primary goal is that no more than 20 percent of contractors are in non-compliant status in the contractor management service at any given time.
Working under the guidance and direction of the Central EHS Team Chemical Management Leader and the Sourcing Global Capital Equipment and Construction Leader. The successful candidate will be able to monitor contractor performance, effectively communicate with our third-party contractor management service, project managers, EHS and Sourcing teams to resolve non-compliant items.

Primary Job Duties:

Review current list of contractors / sub-contractors that are listed in the Avetta to determine those that are non-compliant with respect to the following criteria and work with Avetta and the contractor to assure those contractors are brought into compliance.

Insurance (Certificate of Insurance and Workers Compensation) [Sourcing]
EHS metrics including the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) injury metrics, annual pre-qualification questionnaire (PQF), annual update (OSHA 300 metrics) and the experience modification rate (EMR)

Support audit completion by project managers of contractors performing work at each site
Support and assist in planning and coordination of the GEA contractor day in 2019
Work directly with project managers and the third-party contractor vetting service personnel to assure open non-compliant items are resolved in a timely manner.
Complete regulatory and internally required EHS inspections and audits.






Participate in site contractor incident investigations (e.g., injuries, fires, spills) to ensure causal factors are identified, prevention steps are taken and validated, and lessons learned are shared and leveraged in a timely manner.
Respond to questions and/or concerns received from internal and external stakeholders. Ensure timely and accurate responses.
Actively solicit feedback and input from suppliers to make the contractor management service more streamlined and efficient

Minimum Qualifications:

Good interpersonal skills and ability to manage multiple initiatives
Advanced computer skills (Office 365)
Goal oriented and process driven


Preferred Qualifications:

Experience and knowledge of contractor safety requirements


Working Conditions:

Working conditions are normal for a manufacturing/office environment.
Working in this environment requires the use of safety equipment including but not limited to safety glasses, hearing protection, safety shoes, and hard hat.
Travel may be required (satellite sites within region): 10%.
