Adecco is currently assisting a local client in Duryea, PA identify an Analytical Technician.

This position requires a Bachelor degree in chemistry, bio-chemistry, physics, materials science, or comparable field or Associate degree in laboratory technology, laboratory technician, or comparable field. Preferred 1+ years experience with instrumental analytical testing including preparation techniques
.
This is a temporary-to-hire position that pays between $15 and $17 per hour. The hours are Monday-Friday 8:00am-4:30pm.

Requirements:

-Laboratory experience with instrumental analytical testing (surface and bulk), basic know-how in handling chemicals, documenting and reporting results under a quality management system, ability to work in a team, functional ability with modern computer programs (Word, Excel).

Major Duties
-Service
Prepares samples and learns to conduct analyses focused mainly on the characterization of phenomena resulting from the interaction between glass and liquid reaction partners (i. g. drugs) or effects like glass contaminations or modifications caused by production or handling steps. This characterization is performed especially by using the instruments: Light microscopy, Electron microscopy (SEM, EDS), and Inductively-Coupled-Plasma �Spectrometry.
-Documentation and Evaluation
Evaluates and documents the analytical results according to the rules given by the accreditation (ISO17025) and the respective standard operating procedures.
-Project Work
Performs studies according to the study protocol agreed by the customer. Works together with teams composed of employees , pharma services (SPS) and from supporting groups.
-Quality management
Takes care for the laboratory space, instruments and tools used for analytical work and ensures their functionality. Initiates and controls maintenance work and calibration routines. Informs the responsible laboratory manager in case of malfunctions and supports the remedy.
-Qualification
Takes care to build up knowledge with respect to the analytical methods, tools, and sample preparation techniques. Participates and initiates the exchange of experiences within the SPS team.
-Occupational and environmental protection
Follows the rules and obligations given by local law, the quality system, the accreditation rules with respect to safety at work and environmental protection. Supports in preventing incidents and informs the responsible persons in case of observed problems
