Length: 6 months increments up to 2 years duration W2 contract

Summary Description

The Ariba Deployment SME Consultant reports to the Assistant Vice President of Procurement Systems and is responsible for supporting the organization in delivering global technology solutions that enable the indepth services provided by Global Procurement to the Client Enterprise and that help the organization adhere to the global policies and procedures. This deployment is occuring within Latin America and European and Asian areas of the massive global footprint of our client.

The incumbent’s key focus is the indepth implementation management, administration and on-going support of the platform’s deployment activities for global spend management (eProcurement). These technologies together make up the Client's Global Procurement Platform (GPP) and are being provided by the Ariba OnDemand solutions.

The role will be responsible for developing partnerships with regional executive stakeholders, deployment team members, and IT application development and key business unit leaders. This position requires an experienced professional with sound business judgment and an understanding of procurement processes and technology on a global scale. Specifically this role will focus on the IT configuration and be the SME resource for the indepth support of the global project.

Principle Responsibilities:


Work alongside the Global Procurement Systems team to provide direction and guidance to the end users and business partners, as well as provide input into the global support model and organizational structure.
Deployment responsibilities include assisting customers throughout the various phases of Ariba’s solution deployment.
Assist with all aspects of a deployment including (but not limited to): process configuration, feature/functionality demos, user interface configuration, user and supplier set-up and overall project management.
Builds solution, customer, and industry knowledge by leveraging the appropriate resources (internally at Ariba and externally at the client)
Develops indepth and maintaining team operating principles and team templates and work instructions.
Works on improving team trainings and acts as a mentor to new team members.
Manages internal and external resources to optimize client impact.
Executes with minimal guidance and shows strong initiative.
Maintains regular communication with team members (e.g., face-to-face, via voicemails, emails) especially across multiple solution deployments so everyone understands status of project.
Proactively collaborates with their manager and team members to anticipate and respond to issues that could impact solution deployment (e.g., change in scope).
Display proactive communication (i.e., face-to-face meetings and phone calls are more frequent than emails).
Manage and support other Global Procurement Systems initiatives as assigned.
Work with leadership to identifying resources needed, develop project plans, and identify stakeholders.



Required Skills:


Bachelor’s Degree in Technology, Management Information Systems, Computer Science, Supply Chain Management, similar studies or commensurate experience.
3+ Years’ Experience working with Ariba’s Procure-to-Pay cloud solution


Desired Skills:


Global experience and perspective of business environment and technology
Proficiency using Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Outlook, Word, PowerPoint
Strong knowledge of Ariba eProcurement platforms
High degree of problem solving and decision-making ability
Must function well in a team environment
Must able to work in diverse environments and adhere to highest ethical standards
Needs excellent Relationship building, influencing, communication and presentation skills.
Organizational and multi-tasking skills, advance planning and time management skills a must
Ability to perform in complex cross-functional, global, business environments and handle multiple tasks successfully
Strong active listening and facilitation skills
Flexibility and the ability to adapt to change required
Experience with additional Procurement technology and ERP platforms such as PeopleSoft Purchasing, AP, and Financials a plus
Business fluency in additional languages is a plus
Proficiency with Microsoft Project a plus
