Adecco is assisting a local client in Whippany, NJ recruiting for an Assembler/Test Technician. This position is temp to perm and includes working under minimum supervision, assembling units and sub-assemblies to print using both power and hand tools, while using hand tools and measuring equipment to measure and verify compliance of production units to blue prints and drawings. Responsibilities:

  • Lay out and perform mechanical, electrical and sub-assembly on units in accordance with blueprints, MIL-Specs, build books and other specifications
  • Set up, operate and use hand machine and special tools, electrical devices and measuring equipment
  • Solder in accordance with blueprints and/or work instructions
  • Use electrical devices and measuring instruments to inspect work and assure quality requirements are met
  • Perform functional testing of electro-mechanical devices and/or motors using a variety of test equipment as per work procedures
  • Select and utilize test, measuring and other equipment per Acceptance Test Procedures (ATP) and documents quality and test results
  • Evaluate and validate customer returns and work with Quality to determine cause of failure
  • Track and monitor tool and equipment calibration
  • Knows and follows Safety Sensitive Procedures and Electro Static Discharge (ESD) controls
  • Knows and follows Quality Management System procedures
  • Maintains good housekeeping in work area
  • Knows and follows established EHS procedures
  • Brings unsafe conditions to management’s attention or corrects as able

 

Required Education and Experience:

  • High school graduate or equivalent
  • 1-year experience working from blueprints and/or schematics to assemble and test electromechanical component parts, motors or similar electronics
  • Knowledge of AC/DC power supplied.

 

Desired Characteristics:

  • Previous experience in electrical and mechanical assembly of complex electro mechanical actuators or similar product, including good wiring practices
  • 1-2 years of J STD-001 soldering experience
  • Experience in the aerospace or defense industry
  • 1-year prior experience using calipers and other bench measuring equipment
  • Experience using electrical and mechanical measuring instruments and hand tools
  • 1-year experience reading blueprints and performing functional electro mechanical testing and calibration of test equipment
  • Effective oral and written communication skills and problem-solving skills
  • Strong math skills which include proficiency in geometry
  • Basic computer skills

 

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to lift and carry up to 25 lbs
  • Repetitive use of hands and fingers; gross and fine dexterity
  • Ability to transport items to other work centers throughout the facility
  • Ability to stand for long periods of time
