Summary of the Job:  Under minimal supervision, assist Production Supervisor in attaining the goals of the Production department, providing work direction to Assemblers. 



  1. Maintain production work schedules, sort and separate work orders by format and job due dates for the production staff. 
  2. Check work in progress through various areas of production to ensure schedules are met. 
  3. Assist in supervising and training assemblers.
  4. Determine assembly layout by following samples and BOMs to achieve maximum efficiency and minimum turnaround time. 
  5. Assist with analyzing, preparing and executing daily packaging schedule and report any anticipated problems.
  6. Monitor and update progress to ensure Production needs are met. 
  7. Monitor availability of materials for daily work orders.  
  8. Act on all incident reports and bad media analysis
  9. Preprint approval in Label Printing and maintain label inventory accuracy.
  10. Assist with visually checking first print labels or post print labels, if applicable, with customer spec label for sameness, before allowing label printed to continue printing label orders.
  11. Ensure assembly line is operating efficiently and ensure the lines are supplied with the necessary materials.
  12. Take care of returns and rejects to ensure they are counted and documented. 
  13. Assist with identifying potential problems and root causes, determining and implementing corrective actions/solutions.
  14. Complete Routing Slip and necessary paperwork when a job is complete. 
  15. Keep track of quantity packaged and report same to Supervisor.
  16. QC packages on line per instructions and BOM. 
  17. Update and maintain integrity of the database
  18. Implement and maintain preventative maintenance programs, ensuring effective equipment utilization. 
  19. Maintain Production floor organization, safety & cleanliness among staff.
  20. Ensure equipment and all safety measures are in place, and that staff has required safety training. 
  21. Promptly address safety issues and ensure all processes/procedures and work with supervisor to ensure compliance with OSHA standards.
  22. Assure compliance to ISO 9000 and 14001 as this relates to supervision of the production area and adhere to the DCL Code of Conduct. 
  23. Assist with Auditing process and procedures for compliance and quality. 


  1. May assist with conducting special studies relating to the introduction of new processes, products or equipment to affect cost reduction and yield improvement.
  2. Assist with coordinating with various departments in the completion of orders and ensuring the correct information is updated in the database
  3. Perform other job responsibilities, as necessary and/or assigned



While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to do the following:

  1. Ability to move 50+ pounds
  2. Ability to stand for long periods of time and must be able to do repetitive hand motions, with good manual dexterity
  3. Ability to work in a warehouse environment where temperature is affected by weather conditions



  1. 2+ years related experience in production/packaging, with 1 year in a lead capacity
  2. Excellent communications
  3. Excellent trouble-shooting and problem-solving skills
  4. Ability to operate pallet jacks and make minor adjustments to packaging equipment
  5. Proficiency with computer database software.  One World experiences a plus.
  6. Strong attention to detail and follow-through
