The Assessment Item Writers will write, review and revise test questions aligned with specific subject-area standards. Ability to work independently and as a part of team is required.

 

Field of Specialty- Japanese Language

 

MUST be fluent in reading, writing and speaking Japanese

 

This is Full Time onsite position in Princeton, NJ for 6 months+ Contract

 

Pay rate: $28/hr.


Responsibilities for this position include:

• Develop test items with stimulus materials, aligned to ACTFL standards and proficiency guidelines and individual state standards
• Develop high-quality test items that meet or exceed client requirements
• Write and review items, gather and resolve feedback from multiple sources on items
• Assemble pretests, tests, and/or pools of items; review tests
• Review and revise program publications and interpretive test preparation materials
• Work with staff to request, monitor, and manage copyright permissions and requirements for items and tests

Candidates should meet the following requirements for consideration:

• Master’s degree in Japanese, or combination of education and experience from which comparable knowledge and experience can be acquired is required.
• Fluency in reading, writing, and speaking Japanese. Knowledge of world languages pedagogical practices across K-12 levels is desirable.
• 3 years of experience is required, in test development, process or project management, administration, operational or technical activities.
• Ability to approach item development that addresses the four language skills: reading, writing, listening, and speaking, across the three modes of communication: interpersonal, interpretive, and presentational, as discussed in the ACTFL standards and proficiency guidelines, and embraces the use of authentic stimulus materials.
• Ability to work within and across various software platforms, including Microsoft Office suite (especially MS Word and Excel) is a MUST.
• Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communications skills
• Decision making – ability to make reasonable judgments; problem solving in the face of ambiguity
• Demonstrate a high level of productivity and exhibit accountability for assignments
• Ability to work both collaboratively and autonomously
• Excellent organizational skills and strong analytical skills with technical acumen are required.

 

Work Experience:

Teaching/ classroom experience is desirable.
