The Operations Manager’s primary objective is to manage the day-to-day store operation while coaching, developing, mentoring, and motivating a team of Store Supervisors, Retail Sales Associates, and Sales Support Personnel who together will maximize sales. In conjunction with the General Manager, the Operations Manager will manage the retail operation in accordance with company policy in the following areas (but not limited to): Sales, Customer Service, Marketing and Promotions, Staff Management, Merchandising & Display, Stock Control & Handling, General Performance, Airport Operations, and Warehouse Operations. The Operations Manager will inspire the team to provide superior customer service at all times. This position reports to the General Manager.

Essential Functions

Create and maintain an atmosphere geared toward achieving sales and profit goals. Communicate the results of sales goals in conjunction with the General Manager.
Manage loss prevention procedures and enforce established security and safety policies.
Ensure that the retail store team delivers consistent and excellent customer service in accordance with standards. Resolve customer issues and requests in an efficient and timely manner.
Maintain a cohesive and cooperative work environment through team building and motivation.
Maintain accountability between the warehouse and retail store locations. Ensure a positive working relationship with US Customs, Airport Authority, and other concessions within the Airport.
Suggest employees for advancement and take disciplinary action against underperforming associates as needed. Participate in recruiting and training staff.
Managing and ensuring that sufficient control measures are in place to secure both merchandise and financial instruments at the stores and warehouse.

Minimum Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills, and Work Environment

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience
Minimum 4 years retail experience and 2 years management/supervisory experience
Previous experience in airport operations or airport retail concessions preferred, but not required
Excellent customer service and conflict resolution skills required
Superior communication, leadership, and organizational skills
Requires a professional attitude and the ability to be flexible in dealing with change
Must be able to coordinate multiple tasks, projects, and responsibilities simultaneously
Must be flexible to work periodic long and/or irregular shift hours, weekends, and holidays
Fluency in Microsoft Office required
