Automation Engineer

Adecco Direct Placement is currently recruiting qualified candidates for an Automation Engineer Job near Pittsburgh, PA (Ambridge, PA) for our client, a steel manufacturing plant. The Systems Engineer will be responsible for a plant automation and a variety of software engineering and process engineering functions including: analyzing process performance, development and design of process changes, managing the implementation of process improvements and project management of related engineering activities. The Systems Engineer will develop methods and practices that will improve the quality of products, expand the product mix and reduce manufacturing costs through specialized application and use of automation technology. We are seeking candidates with hands on experience programming HMIs and PLCs Our client offers a salary of $75,000 and up and a comprehensive benefits package.

Responsibilities for the Systems Engineers Job near Pittsburgh, PA (Ambridge, PA) nclude:
• Design, develop and manage process-related, modeling, engineering and research projects with the objective of developing new methods and practices that will ultimately reduce production cost, improve yields and provide better product quality
• Maintain control models related to precision closed-loop industrial control
• Provide expert advice, system troubleshooting and direct hands-on support to the Maintenance and Operating Management in the following specific functional areas while ensuring compliance with established specifications and industrial standards
• Provide support and guidance in the establishing of level I and II tracking systems for new Q&T Facility
• Work with operating personnel to improve all operations within the facility including PIW Hydro tester, Upsetting, Threading and Normalizing
• Look at all avenues available to automate all processes
• Continue to work on continuous improvement on all equipment
• Plan and coordinate activities related to the concept, final design, bidding, bid evaluation for the construction, modification and maintenance of facility equipment
• Establish standards and procedures for installation, modification, quality control, testing and acceptance procedures required for the successful implementation of the projects
• Perform the maintenance responsibilities for programming and software support for Level 2 process control systems r

• Bachelor of Science degree in electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, computer programming, or related scientific field
• Minimum of 5 years’ experience programming industrial process control systems
• Demonstrated proficiency in HMI programming
• Possess the intimate knowledge of process interactions between control layers and physical processes in a manufacturing facility
• Equipment and process knowledge including industrial control computer processors, multi-tasking operating systems, real time communications systems, programmable logic controllers and the ability to integrate them into a working process control system
• Project management experience
