We're currently recruiting on behalf of our client in Middletown, NY for the job of Automations Engineer. You will assist in designing, procuring, programming, installing and testing of electronic automation equipment needed for sensing and controlling process parameters and troubleshooting manufacturing systems.

You will:

Support the operation and troubleshooting of manufacturing equipment and control systems.
Support reliability engineering for production and support equipment.
Provide on the floor operational support as needed .
Provide off-shift and on call support when necessary.
Manage regulatory aspects of the site's networked engineering data collection, monitoring and SCADA systems.
Design and implement support for minor functional and process changes, either smaller projects, remediation activities or capital projects.
Support capital projects and assure site automation standards are followed .
Provide automation guidance and training to Operations, Maintenance.
Author and/or review design documents for projects and process changes.
Support commissioning/qualification activities as required .

Job Requirements:

Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or in a related discipline.
2-7 years industry experience working in roles which Electrical and Control Systems Engineering.
Responsible, trustworthy, diligent
Hard working with a strong work ethic
Work independently with minimal supervision
Excellent computer skills
Strong communication skills, written, oral, and interpersonal
Knowledge of FT Historian, MS SQL Server, Windows Server 2008 R2/2012 R2 is a plus
Medium Voltage experience is a plus
Knowledge of Burner Management Systems (BMS) is a plus

Ability to demonstrate skills and experience with:

Allen Bradley PLCs (e.g. Control Logix, Compact Logix and Micrologix) RSLinx and RSLogix
Knowledge of HMI program such as RSView/FT View
Knowledge of drives such as PowerFlex VFDs, ABB VFDs
SCADA protocols (especially Modbus, HART, DeviceNet, and ControlNet)
Proficient in computer aided design with AutoCAD
Electrical and Control System Design
Experience with 480VAC power distribution and equipment
Control Systems testing and commissioning
Knowledge of Ethernet/IP networks, basic knowledge of networking switch
Knowledge of programming language such as VB, C/C++, SQL, .NET
Knowledge of NFPA/NEC
Understanding of instrument control theory
