Azure Strategy Project Manager

Position: Project Leader – Azure Microsoft (cloud infrastructure)
Length: 6 - 9 months W2 contract with possibility of extension
Location: Tampa FL

Position Summary:

Be part of a dynamic Financial Investments IT global team! Our client is looking to onboard project manager with specialty in Microsoft Azure strategy. The successful candidate will have the ability to strategize Azure related governance and develop financial models and control processes as the client expands into public cloud using Microsoft Azure. The successful candidate will be a self-starter with a strong sense of customer service and teamwork. Knowing how to uptrain the team to the nuances of the program will be a plus!

Your Key Responsibilities:

Understand and document best Azure provider based on cost (Microsoft, DXC,)
Develop Azure Costing Template / Financial model including views by direct costs vs. indirect costs
Work with external hosting provider to understand Azure governance to control runs/costs
Manage requests related to Azure as it relates to financials, including providing estimates and present to colleagues including management
Identify process for review of utilization and cost reports
Develop process for Azure financial process reviews including TCO updates
Provide teams the capability of understanding cost of running bursts
Partner with Tech Shared Services to ensure consistent process with managing Azure processes and reporting
Participate in infrastructure and software financial forecasting including hardware, software.
Effort includes deep dives to understand root cause of expense drivers and challenging rationale with enterprise knowledge and gathered facts
Communication and education of process to Investment IT including senior leadership

What you will need = Essential Business Experience and Technical Skills:


Minimum three years of experience in a Finance role managing Cloud Infrastructure
Comfortable working with technology and finance colleagues at all levels
Excellent interpersonal and data organizational skills and be adept at establishing credibility and building relationships
Essential that you are highly organized with advanced knowledge of MS Excel and constantly looking for process improvements.
Excellent and efficient skills including the use of pivot tables, macros and modeling functions
Experience in financial planning and analysis, IT project accounting and expense management
Strong work ethic, ability to multitask, attention to detail and resourceful.
Exceptional interpersonal and communication


Openness to an environment of active developmental feedback from peers and managers
Proven ability to respond within short time constraints and meet deadlines, while maintaining accuracy
Focus on best practice implementation specifically around financial processes and reporting
Prior experience with Financial Reporting and Data Visualization Technology (e.g. PowerBI, Apptio)
BA/BS in Finance / Information Systems - dual Finance / IS degree is a big plus!
An outstanding ability to analyze problems, apply quantitative analytical approaches, communicate effectively and confidently (both oral and written), and work well in cross-functional teams
