Benefits Administrator

Location: Irvine

Pay Rate: $25/hr

Temporary Assignment 


Adecco is assisting a local client in their search for 3 Benefits Administrators. The main objective for a Benefits Specialist is to provide our client base with “Employee Level Service” as it relates to the administration of their benefit programs. This service includes managing all aspects of benefit eligibility for a group of clients, taking escalated employee calls that are transitioned from the Call Center, providing deduction information to payroll, and handling level 1 claims issues. Client Requirements:

  • Handle participant issues and overflow calls from Call Center
  • Report payroll changes to client on a weekly basis by providing updated confirms and/or reports
  • Prepare and send out new hire packets and mailings and maintain ample supply of materials for distribution
  • Assist employees with claims questions, EOB explanation, and claims re-submission to carriers
  • Coordinate details of any escalated issue to Sr. Benefit Administrator that may require use of ProView’s Incident Documentation
  • Expertly and swiftly resolve employee health and welfare benefit plan issues and assist with overflow calls from the Call Center

Internal Processing:

  • Ensure that all internal/external inquiries are responded to and resolved within established guidelines
  • Process all Benefits related transactions within the client set up ( i.e. New Hires, QSCs, OADs, Court Orders, LOAs, Terminations)
  • Monitor ACA eligibility
  • Process, audit and maintain benefits administration systems daily
  • Scan and file all employee documents.
  • Respond to all client service tickets on daily basis
  • Audit Global activities including, new hires, termination notifications and changes to carriers on a daily basis
  • Database testing for eligibility management
  • Process LOA and Retiree enrollment changes
  • Follow all document retention and filing policies and procedures to ensure details of all employee discussions and transactions are properly recorded and stored

Carrier requirements:

  • Contact Carrier Reps on outstanding issues pertaining to employee level service
  • Review carrier invoicing prior to client delivery by the Billing Dept.
  • Complete discrepancy resolution for assigned issues
  • Review each carrier discrepancy report after an electronic feed has been passed
  • Escalate carrier plan availability issues to Sr. Benefit Administrator

Minimum Qualifications (KSA’s - knowledge, skills and abilities)


  • High school degree required
  • Associate or Bachelor’s degree or HR certification preferred
  • CA Life and Health Insurance Agent License REQUIRED 


  • At least 1-3 year experience within an employee benefits environment (i.e., carrier, employer HR, consulting)
  • Knowledge of all benefits—company paid and voluntary at an eligibility processing level
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Excel required
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Access preferred
