Adecco is currently assisting a local client in their search to fill a Billing/Collections Representative position in Manhasset, NY! This is a long term opportunity for the right person. 1. Registering patients in the ED or Admitting- entering patient demographic information in to the registration system.
2. Explaining financial responsibility to patients and collecting co-pay , deductibles and co-insurance
3. Working with patients to explain their rights as a patient and have them complete mandatory consents.
4. Walking and standing for extended periods of time to complete bedside registration and complete signatures on the units.
5. Facilitate the release of all expires patients in the facility- including assistance with the completion of death certificates, coordination with morgues attendants and funeral directors.

What type of education will this candidate- High School Diploma/ GED
Is this person part of a team- Yes. In either Admitting or the ED there is a team environment.
What software skills are needed- familiarity with Microsoft Suite; registration experience preferred NOT requires. Comfort with computers and data entry.
What are the hours? The hours will vary across the different positions and departments. We have the following available (7a to 3pm, 3pm-11pm, 11pm-7am in Admitting) Some flexibility to work other shifts as needed.

Please confirm the worksite location - North Shore University Hospital- 300 Community Drive Manhasset, NY 11030.

Conduct interviews to obtain demographics, insurance information, etc and enters data inter department computer system.
Obtain appropriate signatures on medical, legal and financial form.
Communicates the collection policy and educates patients regarding financial responsibility. Collects copays and deductibles received at point of service and process electronically.
Performs outpatient, registration for emergency room department.
Performs various related clerical duties supporting department operations including but not limited to answering telephone, maintaining files, sorting mail, keeping inventory of supplies and informing management of all activities, needs and problems.
