Business Analyst for Data Governance Team: Metrics Analyst

The Data Metrics Analyst will assist in the leading, managing and preparation of the Global Markets (GM) and Intermediate Holding Company (IHC) Data Metrics. The candidate will be responsible for understanding of which types of trending graphs to use in different scenarios as well as efficient execution of creating and maintaining the metrics and establishing and monitoring thresholds and breaches. Metrics are a key component of the data strategy, providing high visibility to senior leads and management across GM/IHC.
Candidates are expected to meet aggressive deadlines and be able to multitask working with multiple teams to obtain a precise set of metrics on a recurring basis. They should also be able to think outside the box to help define clear measurement criteria.

Job Responsibilities:
• Work closely with various teams (both internal to team and in other departments) to collect, analyze and understand metrics for the data strategy metrics
• Populate data metrics and ensure the correctness/accuracy of the numbers and related variance reports, trending graphs, narratives and monitoring metric thresholds and breaches
• Create procedure documentation of the end-to-end metrics process

 

Qualifications for this Business Analyst for Data Governance  job:

• Knowledge of investment banking products

• Strong understanding of financial instruments and financial systems

• Overall understanding of Data Governance and Data Metrics definition and execution and strong experience in data analysis, statistics and metrics

• Ability to engage multiple teams across different functions, understand different view-points and drive analysis to resolution

• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, particularly in client/stakeholder relationship management

• Excellent analytical and problem solving skills, specifically the ability to resolve issues to conclusion with strong attention to detail

• Proven ability to work independently and manage ones time

 

Education/Experience:

• Bachelor's degree in computer information systems, economics, finance, accounting or relevant field required

• 3-7 years of relevant business analysis work experience required

• Business Analysis experience with a leading consulting firm within financial services preferred but not mandatory

• Computer software proficiency, including: MS Word, MS PowerPoint, MS Project, MS Excel and Visio with strong emphasis on Power Point and Excel skills

• Experience with Collibra, Tableau highly sought
