JOB SUMMARY

Develop business UAT/BAT Test plan for a two phased project
Coordinate all business testing activities to include
Creation of test cases by all impacted lines of business/testers
Coordination of testers to ensure testing is being performed via timelines
Defect remediation and mitigation


Roles and Responsibilities
• Developing a test strategy and plan
• Developing test cases
• Leading a testing team to execute test cases
• Managing defects uncovered
• Reporting on testing progress
• Managing Defect resolution
• Obtaining sign-off on the testing phase
• Building up and leading the Testing Team to the success of project
• Defining the scope of testing within the context of each release / delivery
• Deploying and managing resources for testing
• Applying the appropriate test measurements and metrics in the product and the Testing Team
• Planning, deploying and managing the testing effort for any given engagement.


From an analysis and design perspective, define and implement the overall test approach
Work effectively with the IT contact to determine which types of testing (e.g. non-functional, UAT) are required and align the business and IT test phases.
Ensure adequate requirement coverage and traceability between requirements and test scripts.
Estimation and planning will form an important part of this role; Will need to have the ability to apply different estimating methods to estimate timescales, effort and costs for the testing phases.
Responsible for producing the overall test delivery plan and defining the business test deliverable milestones, test tasks and activities whilst determining whether automation tools can be utilized.
Working closely with IT and ensure that the necessary environments and data are available and coordinated within the release schedule
Accountable for test resource planning within the delivery project.
Manage a large testing capability, resources and testing process from project initiation to post implementation review and extended wellness.
Monitor progress against the test deliverables plan and identify slippage and develop strategies to recover and will own and resolve issues around the technical solution delivered into the business test environment.
Ensure that all test phases have appropriate entry / exit criteria and for monitoring achievement of these criteria and for obtaining sign-off against these prior to Go Live.
Implement a well-structured approach to test defect management and incident reporting.
Communication and reporting will be a core element of this position; Will need to monitor and report the status and progress of each test phase to different stakeholders and to agreed company standards.
Contribute to Go/No-Go decisions and be responsible for maintaining and distributing the Test Status reports.



Build strong relationships with all project stakeholders including business and IT to ensure a collaborative approach to testing will be crucial to success and you will need to maintain internal networks to influence and support the delivery of projects and champion the Business Testing function.
From a risk perspective, continuously monitor projects for test-related risks, issues and regulatory compliance and take appropriate steps to mitigate, ensuring effective issue escalation to senior management where there is a significant threat to delivery.


MUST HAVE:

5-7_yrs of exp. as Business Acceptance Tester (BAT)
5-7 yrs of exp. as a Lead in BAT -
Exp. investigating the business test requirements for a medium to large sized project (around up to $20 milliion)
Exp. defining & developing test case scenarios using a range of options, to ensure end to end changes to business processes deliver improved ways of working for the end user.
INDUSTRY – any – system upgraded – financial preferred
SYSTEMS KNOWLEDGE: HPALM, MS Project, MS Excel


ADDITIONAL SKILLS:

Able to apply analytical techniques to identify underlying issues and business
Exp. monitoring the progress of a deliverable against plans by making changes as needed in order to ensure completion is on time and of high quality for various teams.
Have acute awareness of the impact & implications of incorrect work or data on the reputation of the function / business unit and organization overall and continually have monitored and supervised teams on the importance of accuracy of data and attention to detail.
