Buyer Assistant

Adecco Finance is seeking a Buyer Assistant for our client in Fairfield, NJ. This is a contract-to-hire opportunity.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Procure material and services in accordance with purchasing procedures to support the corporation’s requirements through successful completion of purchase orders
  • Negotiate price and delivery.
  • Requisition and purchase order processing for PS, Free Stock, OEM (Statlock & Safeguard), Office Supplies & MAC items
  • Receipt and review of requisitions from the Planning Dept. for Inventory items as well as processing of purchase orders
  • Work with requisitioners and planners to ensure material and service availability
  • Troubleshoot accounting and receiving discrepancies
  • Maintain AVL (Approved Vendor List) & Vendor Assessment (Inventory & Service)
  • Coordinate with all departments as required, to service them or gain service
  • Vendor selection, conduct quality surveys and subsequent determination for approval of vendor products/services
  • Return products to vendors and follow up with failure and corrective action, as necessary
  • Monitor Supplier Performance and ID improvements
  • Monitor purchase price variance as it pertains to standard cost
  • Produce weekly PQP report and act upon requests and requirements
  • Reconcile Purchasing monthly credit card
  • Compile product information for MCP components and qualify for purchasing domestically
  • Source new and alternate components at the request of PTMs
  • Attend team meetings for new projects and report action items to Operations
Position Requirements:
  • High School graduate with college degree preferred
  • Computer proficiency with ERP systems, Lotus/Excel, Word Perfect/Microsoft Word
  • 4 years related job experience
  • Previous purchasing experience is a plus, but not required
