Entry-Level Buyer Position 

 

Key role responsibilities

  • Will be required to develop and implement economical procurement plans for purchased materials and services, according to plant and corporate objectives to insure continuous, uninterrupted production, including but not limited to negotiating with vendors to obtain the most favorable price and delivery needed.
  • Will have daily contact with vendors, plant personnel and corporate contacts.
  • Shipping authorizations/returns for supplier returns
  • Communicate non-conformance to suppliers
  • Obtaining missing documents from suppliers
  • Process MRO and direct buy purchase orders

 

 

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

  • 6months to 2 years in manufacturing and or CPIM with 1-2 years’ experience in industrial buying preferred.
  • Must have good analytical, creative and interpersonal skills, including excellent communication skills both written and verbal.  
  • Must be a self-starter and possess excellent computer skills (Word, Excel, and SAP a plus).
  • SAP experience desired

  • Skills in proactive in problem prevention and resolution and anticipates potential problems or short comings in systems design or business processes
  • Skill in verbal and written communication to document and present complex business process, workflows and standards
  • Proven analytic and problem solving skills
  • Demonstrated skills in attention to detail and accuracy
  • Ability to understand cross-functional interdependencies and devise solutions to meet broad corporate needs
