Type:                      Part - time (20 hours / week) contract
Length:                  4 months potential temp to perm
Pay:                        $20.00 – $25.00 / HR
Shift/Hours:          8A – 5P

Responsibilities for this Buyer job include, but are not limited to:

  • This position is responsible for cost efficient and cost-effective procurement of quality goods and services both domestic and internationally.
  • Perform material resource planning to determine current and future demands for materials.
  • Prepare purchase orders based on approved requisitions, requests for proposals, bids and other similar documents related to the purchasing of supplies, services, and materials.
  • Locate new/alternate sources for existing materials and supplies to maximize profit while maintaining/improving supply.
  • Assist Purchasing Manager, Buyers and Production as needed on assigned tasks.
  • Assist in researching market prices and values for any forecasting needs of future projects.
  • Forecast and set annual pricing standards.
  • Facilitate and manage any supplier issues.
  • Generate metrics and reports to document goals.
  • Communicate status of goals throughout the year to Management.

  • 2+ years’ experience in purchasing within a manufacturing facility is desired.
  • High school diploma is required.
  • Associates or Bachelors degree in business or related field is desired.
  • Experience working with Global sourcing.
  • APICS certification is a plus.
  • Knowledge of Six Sigma and/or Lean Manufacturing experience.
  • Proven negotiation and interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrated problem solving, decision making skills, and the ability to think/act independently.
