Adecco is currently assisting a client in their search to fill a Buyer/ Procurement Specialist / Material Planner/ Supply Chain Management role located in Windsor, CT


POSITION: Buyer / Procurement Specialist
HOURS: 8:00AM – 5:00PM **Monday – Friday**
1+ year contract


Pay rate: $25/hr

Manage and respond to MRP requirements in a timely way, maximizing the supply base for delivery, cost and quality.
• With direction from Supply Chain colleagues, identify timely sources for components required by production plans. Problem solve in collaborative way with suppliers.
• Summarize Open Order reporting from suppliers to identify potential risks to production schedules.
• Run SAP reports, as needed for Supply Chain team, including Logistics.
• Participate in material management Kaizen events
• Initiates requisitions and follows up to ensure timely availability of parts for production to meet customer shipping dates
• Revises and reschedules purchase orders as necessary to compensate for rush order priorities and material shortages
• Work closely with production planning and other members of supply chain and customer service teams to achieve shared objectives
• Use problem solving skills to resolve invoice discrepancies with quantity, pricing, etc.
• Responsible for observing good business practices, protecting the interest of the company and for buying at the best possible price consistent with time, quality and quantity requirements complying with company policies and procedures.


Requirements:


3+ years of Buyer / Procurement / Material Planner/ Supply Chain Management experience
Manufactoring experience
Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or similar field from accredited institution
• Experience with SAP
SAP MRP Systems and material and capacity planning methodologies
Knowledge of lean manufacturing concepts
Ability to work well in a fast-paced environment
Understanding of Supply Chain Management operational concepts surrounding Production Planning and Purchasing, Inventory Management
Exposure to concepts of Production Planning / Material Planning, Inventory management.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Knowledge of, or affinity for using SAP MRP Systems and material and capacity planning methodologies
• Knowledge of lean manufacturing concepts
Strong negotiation skills
Strong MS Office skills

JOB DESCRIPTION
Products: Power Distribution Equipment (Panelboards, Switchboards, Motor Control Centers, Enclosed Control).
Maintain focus on safety and safe performance of work requirements at all times. Wear all required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) as required.
Be fully compliant with all company policies – including, but not limited to: Harassment Free Workplace, Values and Philosophies, Plant Harmony Statement, etc.
Must have the ability to: follow oral and/or written instructions; read schematic drawings, blue prints and other manufacturing information. Mechanical aptitude required with custom wiring experience preferred.
Job requires standing for long periods of time and using various tools (Manual/electric/pneumatic tools, template/fixtures, hand carts, measuring and testing equipment, storage/packaging materials, metal fabrication equipment) for light mechanical assembly and point-to-point wiring of electrical components; modification of standard assemblies and sub-assemblies. Regularly required to stand; walk; stoop; squat; reach to or below shoulder level; lift; carry; push; pull; and use hands to handle and feel. Required to climb; and reach above shoulder level. Regularly required to lift/carry up to 35 pounds. Frequently required to push/pull up to 35 pounds. Occasionally required to push/pull greater than 35 pounds with assistance.
Job may require working overtime (both daily and weekend).
Clean work area on daily basis – to include sweeping, moping, emptying trash, etc. Observe good housekeeping and keep equipment, tools and work area clean and orderly.
Maintain quality standards by inspecting and testing finished products to ensure conformance with specifications and codes. Use established power checking procedures and equipment to verify electrical/mechanical integrity of units assembled.
Maintain expected progress of jobs in area of assignment and report problem areas.

2nd shift
Pay Rate $11.65 an hour
