We're currently on the hunt, on behalf of our client, for a Buyer/Planner who will be responsible for full cycle coordination of materials (from purchasing through shipping). You have the ability to anticipate trends in the market
and establish long term business plans.

You will:

Manage purchasing of assigned commodities/part families (steel)
Analyze material requirements and monitor inventory levels to ensure uninterrupted flow of materials and services
Mitigate material shortages and/or manufacturing release delays through direct involvement with design, production, and supplier resources.
Manage suppliers, keep track of supplier issues and performance, and drive SCAR process
Manage production scheduling
Conduct weekly scheduling meetings with production team and communicate weekly/monthly production goals and priorities.
Participate in daily plant meetings and communicate priorities, goals, and critical planning updates
Identify potential scheduling and planning issues; escalate, investigate, and recommend/initiate solutions
Support operational S&OP meetings by providing necessary updates such as manufacturing release need dates, manufacturing completion estimates, and relevant schedule risks.

Experience with process creation and documentation
Intermediate level Microsoft Office Suite including Excel and experience with Lean Manufacturing principles


Associates or BS/BA Supply Chain, Business, Engineering, or related field.
APICS certification (or other SCM related) is the "cherry on top"
Three to five years of relevant experience required.
Possesses a proven understanding of supply chain and materials/resource planning principles
