CAD Designer (CREO)



Modis Engineering is seeking a CAD Designer position in Lafayette, GA on a contract basis. The desired candidate will have experience with Creo 3 or 4. Candidates will have a minimum of an Associates degree along with at least five years of experience preferably with plastic injection, sheet metal and/or diecast part design.

Responsibilities:

Knowledge and application of engineering drawing practices, ANSI standards and industry standards including ASME Y14.5 (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing) and ASME Y14.100 (Engineering Drawing Practices), and its application techniques
Knowledge of robust 3D modeling techniques, Model Based Enterprise (MBD) concepts, and 2D Engineering drawing standards, including the use of Model Check
Experience with Large Assembly Management and Simplified REP's creations and management
Working from sketches and design specifications, collaborate with senior engineers to develop and release detailed engineering documents for parts and assemblies using MBD (Model Based Definition), drawings and documentation, as well as modify existing drawings and documentation
Participate in engineering design/document reviews as necessary
Conduct quality checks of all documents and reports, verifying accuracy of data, information and calculations
Work hands-on in a fast-paced environment with the ability to deal with ambiguity/uncertainty and a willingness to try new and challenging concepts and solutions


Education and Experience Requirements:

Associates Degree in Drafting/Design Engineering or Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering or minimum three (3) years technical design experience in consumer products or another comparable industry.
Minimum (5) years of experience with plastic injection, sheet metal, and diecast part design and previous lean manufacturing background.
Proficient with 3D CAD PTC Creo 3 or 4 Parametric and Cero View 4 .
Experience with Windchill 11 Product Data Management tool (PDM) .
Working knowledge of Microsoft products (Excel, PowerPoint and Word) software packages .
Advanced computer skills Mechanical designer/draftsman with a strong mechanical aptitude and general understanding of manufacturing and assembly techniques.
Strong team player that is willing to help others and collaborate effectively to ensure the success of the team.
Must have excellent listening, oral, written and communication skills to work with domestic and international teams-members, vendors and Contract suppliers.
Ability to understand and effectively communicate in the English language.
Excellent analytical and complex problem-solving skills in a fast-paced environment.
Must have the ability to self-manage and prioritize daily tasks with limited supervision.
Strong organization and efficiency skills with a great attention to detail .
Must have the aptitude for continuous improvement.
Ability to work well under pressure and to remain flexible to changing schedules and demands.
Perform all other position related duties as assigned or requested. Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
Adhere to safety regulations and operate safely in an office/manufacturing environment.
Keep proprietary and company information confidential in compliance with employee agreement.
Passing of pre-employment drug/alcohol screening required.
Must be willing and able to work a minimum of 40 hours per week and accept varying shifts and schedules.


Pay Rate: $28.00 - $32.00/hour

Employment Type: W2 contract - 6-12 months - US Citizen or Permanent Resident
