Job Description:

The Manager of Caregiver Excellence is responsible for supporting the Executive Director in building a high-performance community of caregivers unsurpassed in Northern New Jersey for warmth, professionalism and reliability, and who are available to meet demand.

Major Areas of Responsibilities


Recruiting and hiring the best caregivers in Northern New Jersey to meet growth objectives
Preparing newly hired caregivers for success as Caregiver Associates
Providing Caregiver Associates (CAs) with the on-going support and development they need to thrive
Measuring and evaluating caregiver success
Building a community and celebrating success


Specific Areas of Responsibility

Recruiting the best caregivers in New Jersey


Find caregiver candidates through a combination of advertising, college and trade school recruiting, referral generation, and attendance at recruiting functions
Draft recruiting ads that make the company stand out
Place and continually refresh ads for open positions on Craigslist, Indeed, and other recruiting websites
Develop strong relationships with career development offices at local colleges and trade schools
Continually encourage current CAs to refer other great caregivers, and find a set of incentives that help to accomplish this goal


Hiring the best caregivers in New Jersey


Meet monthly goals for hiring caregivers
Review applications
Screen applicants on the phone
Set up in-office interviews
Interview candidates
Create applicant files and document all collected information electronically
Ensure that all applicants are welcomed warmly, treated with utmost respect during the entire hiring process, and thanked for their participation
Comply with Federal and state laws in the hiring process
Ensure and document that all CA candidates possess the credentials required by the company and New Jersey regulations
Enter copies of appropriate credentials in the applicant’s file
Process criminal background tests, and evaluate results relative to company standards
Bring the hiring team to a timely decision about candidates
Enforce discipline around hiring to company standards
Track recruiting and hiring volume


Preparing newly hired caregivers for success as CAs


Work with teammates to continually revise the CA Orientation
Coordinate and participate in new CA orientations
Assist in evaluating new CA performance and acquisition of knowledge during orientation
Ensure completeness of each new Caregiver’s file prior to deployment
Check in regularly with each new CA during their first 90 days, and develop a schedule for making sure this happens
Do client visits to support and evaluate new CA performance
Track new CA performance during the first 90 days
Coordinate a formal evaluation of each new CA within the first 90 days of hire.


Providing Caregiver Associates with the on-going support and development they need to thrive


Help to foster an office culture that embraces the company’s values about and attitude toward CAs
Conduct CA visits, document the results of those visits, and use the information gathered to support and develop CAs
Coordinate and actively assist in developing the company’s On-Going Learning program


Measuring and Evaluating Success


Assist in the development of CA performance criteria and track CA performance relative to those standards
Determine who receives the monthly Caregiver Excellence Awards, the quarterly Award, and the Remarkable Achievement Award (the award for receiving 10 Caregiver Excellence awards in 12 months), and coordinate the communication and receipt of those awards
Assist in the development and refinement of CA bonus and award programs
Ensure that all CAs receive a formal evaluation annually, and schedule and coordinate those evaluations
Coordinate annual CA promotions


Building a community and celebrating success


Assist in the development and implementation of informal and formal recognition programs for Caregiver Associates that achieve certain professional milestones, do extraordinary things, receive high praise from clients, etc.
Coordinate purely social events for Caregiver Associates to meet other Caregiver Associates and members of the office team
Recognize birthdays, illnesses, anniversaries, etc.
Assist in the development and implementation of the company’s virtual Caregiver Community


Other


Determine CA eligibility for benefits and coordinate signing up CAs who opt in
Ensure that required CA credentials are renewed prior to their expiration dates
Assist in preparing an annual budget for Caregiver Excellence
Prepare reports to track goal accomplishment
Participate in the Quality Assurance process
Participate in the on-call rotation
Back up colleagues as necessary


Qualifications:

Educational Requirements

Bachelors Degree from an accredited college
Credentials: None required
Experience and skills

At least one year of experience in a recruiting and hiring function
Strong organizational and administrative skills
Unwavering, passionate commitment to the customer experience and service excellence
