The Chef Assistant’s primary role is to assist the Chef with breakfast and lunch service. Responsibilities may include but are not limited to ordering, menu planning, receiving shipments, stocking front of house, dishwashing, etc. Provide food preparation assistance by washing, peeling, cutting, and seeding vegetables and fruits; cleaning, cutting, and cooking meats, poultry. Maintain food quality by storing foods in designated areas; minimizing spoilage. Maintain safe, secure, and healthy work environment by cleaning work areas, equipment and utensils; follow sanitation standards and procedures; comply with legal regulations. Keep supplies and goods ready by inventorying stock; requisitioning supplies and goods; verifying receipt; storing

• High School Diploma
• Culinary Arts (via trade school or college program)

• 1-3 years related experience in the food service industry
• ServSafe Certification or ability to acquire (company provided)
• First Aid/CPR and Food Allergen training or the ability to acquire (company provided)
• Knowledge of MA & Federal Sanitation guidelines CMR-105, 1999 Federal Food Code
• Experience in a customer facing role with exceptional customer service skills
• Excellent communication skills
• Ability to multi-task
• Sold time management and organizational skills.

• Food preparation experience
• Experience with deli/meat slicer
• Computer Skills (POS, PC)
• First Aid/CPR Training a plus

While performing the duties of this job the employee is often required to stand sit, use computers, read, write, type, use fax machines, use copy machines, file paperwork, use telephones, and utilize written and oral communication to interact with clients and co-workers.
