Classroom Trainer/Program Instructor- Diagnostic Medical Sonography

Adecco- Medical & Science is looking for two part-time & one full-time "Diagnostic Medical Sonography Instructors" for one of the reputed Medical College in Antioch, CA.

-Work Hours for Part Time Faculty: Monday to Thursday- 9:00AM to 2:00PM OR 5:00PM-10:00 PM
-Work Hours for Full Time Faculty: Monday to Thursday 9:00AM - 2:00PM and 5:00PM- 10:00PM /or 4 Days/ 10 hours

CREDENTIALS REQUIREMENT- BA/ARDMS/RBT/General, Abdominal, OBGYN, small part (SPI)

REPORTING: This position reports into Director of Education/CEO

DUTIES:

Should be able to articulate & teach students within medical field
“Teaching” credentials are not a must requirement
Providing classroom, skills laboratory, and/or clinical supervision, instruction and instruction oversight.
Advising, assisting and evaluating students
Coordination and supervision of program activities including curriculum and program planning, development, evaluation and decision-making.
Development of the Surgical Technician programs policies and procedures.
Developing clinical rotations for Surgery Center/Hospital placements.
Meeting with staff in hospital/surgery center agencies for orientation and coordination of instruction.
Evaluate students’ clinical competencies following the program’s regulations and procedures.

Beyond the Minimum Qualifications, the following teaching competencies are desirable:

Competencies related to curriculum and program development, knowledge of teaching & learning theory, information resources & evaluating student competencies.
Facilitating relationships with staff & Operating room managers in clinical settings to benefit students.
Competencies related to relationships with students and colleagues – ability to advise & develop collaborative relationships with a diverse student population, and skill in working as a team member on a teaching team that is learner centered.
Performing work necessary to departmental operation


MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

A minimum of a bachelor’s degree required, master’s degree preferred.
Graduate of an accredited Diagnostic Medical Sonography program recognized by the U.S. Department of Education or the Council for Higher Education Accreditation.
Must be a certified Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (BS Degree) and possess certifications or other designations as required by local, state or federal laws to work in the field. (Certification must be current)
Five (5) years of full-time or equivalent post licensure experience as a Diagnostic Medical Sonographer/Ultrasound Technician that includes a minimum of three (3) full-time years or equivalent of clinical experience.
Experience in; clinical practice, didactic and/or clinical teaching, administration, educational theory and methodology (curricular design, development, implementation and evaluation).
Two (2) years of documented experience as an instructor in a CAAHEP accredited DMS program preferred.
Verbal and written communication skills.
Knowledge of Word, Excel, Power Point and other computer skills.
