A Clinical Specialist role based out of the Bay Area is currently available through Adecco Medical and Science. In this role, you will work under the direction of the Regional Manager to increase sales, expand existing sales base, pursue new business opportunities, strategically plan sales activities, identify target accounts, and sell through clinical support activities to help achieve 100% to plan. Provide sales & service support for Cochlear Implant Centers within the region. Please note extensive travel is required (minimum 50%). This is a home-based, direct-hire position.

The Clinical Specialist job responsibilities include:

Identify issues that are affecting sales at the centers; develop and execute plans to overcome objections.
Plan and perform sales activities that move sales forward.
Demonstrate the ability to articulate the value of products, service & support programs & competitive advantages.
Monitor sales at the centers, determine the market size and AB market share and be able to forecast accurately.
Use sales planning and reporting system as directed.
Manage time appropriately to ensure that adequate time is spent on proactive sales activities.
Provide on-site clinical support for patient fitting & device programming at cochlear implant centers. Provide support on other clinical issues involving cochlear implants, such as candidacy criteria, assessment procedures, difficult case management including integrity testing, program building & clinical studies, seeking input from appropriate personnel.
Effectively train customers on the theory, features and use of systems by incorporating key messages and positioning.
Participate in the Audiologist On-Call program by demonstrating the ability to troubleshoot all systems. Document all reports using corporate issue tracking system within the required 4-day reporting guideline.
Develop a time & territory management strategy and work with the Regional Manager to fiscally manage territory budget.
Accurately identify center needs and seek assistance in execution as appropriate (BEA, E&T, Principal CS, etc.)
Work closely with the BEA to appropriately identify volunteers and utilize the volunteer organization to increase sales.
Work directly with the schools and educational programs within the region if the activities will positively affect sales.
Work closely with Education & Training to develop advanced training events to meet the strategic need of the region.
Work directly with referral sources within the region if the activities will positively affect sales.

Required Knowledge and Skills:

Must be willing to learn and effectively implement sales techniques to increase market share at implant centers.
General knowledge of cochlear implants and related fitting issues.
Familiarity with behavioral and objective procedures used to assess implant candidacy and the benefit for adults and children.
Knowledge of electrophysiological testing with implants (ESRT, Neural Response Measurement) preferred.
Good communication and time management skills. Must be able to function as a team player.
Experience fitting and troubleshooting patient’s external equipment and software issues preferred.
Must be an effective teacher and be able to assess the effects of training, and identify areas in need of additional training.
Must be willing to travel greater than 50% of the time.
Must be willing to present publicly.

Required Education/Experience:

Masters or Au.D. in Audiology (or related profession); Certificate of Clinical Competence in Audiology or ABA Certified
