CNC Machinist ( Day Shift)

The CNC Machinist produces machined parts from set-up sheets, routers, or work instructions by setting up and operating a computer numerical control (CNC) machine; able to read and understand blueprints and GD&T; maintaining quality and safety standards; keeping records; maintaining equipment and supplies.


Responsibilities for a CNC Machinist (mill/lathe) Job in Houston, Texas:


Operate CNC Swiss Style Lathes/Haas Mill machine tools and many specialized or advanced variation tools.
Measure, examine, test and document completed units to detect defects and ensure conformance to specifications, using precision measurement instruments.
Utilize control plan to ensure material is compliant to customer print.
Run multiple machines at the same time
Provide feedback to supervisor and programmer on any opportunities to improve process.
Maintains safe operations by adhering to safety procedures and regulations.
Perform all functions of our quality process, documentation, and MRP program to enter accurate data prior to end of shift.



Requirements for the CNC Machinist Job in Houston, Texas:


Minimum High School or equivalent education is required.
Training at an accredited institution in CNC machining, manufacturing preferred or,
Documented On-the-Job training or a recognized apprenticeship in machining, or,
Minimum 5 years’ experience in a related machine shop/manufacturing field preferred.

SKILLS/COMPETENCIES:

Work from blueprints, drawings and sketches involving the proficiency in basic shop mathematics including geometry and trigonometry, as well as understanding the Cartesian grid system.
Use measuring and inspection equipment, and inspect parts accurately to the ten-thousandths, (0.0001), of an inch. Develop ways to inspect parts more efficiently.
Perform adjustments to tooling offsets in the X, Y & Z axes and set or adjust cutter compensation to ensure precise machining.
Ability to read machine dials, blueprints, precision measuring instruments, and written documentation and/or instructions
