Responsibilities for this job include:

  • Discuss work assignments and objectives to be obtained with supervisory personnel for the programming of various types of computer numerical work centers such as turning and multipurpose machining centers.
  •  Perform a detailed analysis of the component part configurations/dimensions to be fabricated to determine the most efficient machining operations.
  • Determine the appropriate tooling required for the primary machining operations, which are considered basic to above average in complexity and notify manufacturing services of tooling that requires purchasing.
  • Perform the required calculations and write programs for individual work centers to control various machining operations/cycle times to fabricate component parts to stated engineering specifications.
  • Prepare the required documentation for programs and release to the shop floor.
  • Provide ongoing technical support to personnel in the manufacturing divisions in the troubleshooting and resolution of problems related to computer programs.
  • Determine if machining processes are appropriate and calculate cycle times for customer relations.
  • Conduct studies to improve the performance and efficiency of established computer programs.
  • Assist in the training of production operators.
  • Regularly interact with Engineering Departments to resolve problems relating to prints/processes, and to initiate corrective action when necessary.
  • Use a computer terminal, calculator, various types of precision measuring instruments and common office equipment
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.


Qualifications for This job:

  • Must have successfully completed math, blueprint and gauging.
  • 2 - 3 years of CNC operating experience.
  • 2 years of hands-on programming experience.
  • Proven ability to independently program g-codes.
  • Tooling knowledge.
