Adecco is assisting COACH with the search of a Handbag Patternmaker to support the Workshop at the NYC Corporate location. This is a temp to hire opportunity for the right candidate.

Primary Purpose:
Support the Design function in the New York Workshop with timely creation of patterns and prototype samples from Design Card specifications and concept drawings. Support PD, Design and Sourcing with patterns in CAD and information for Tech Packages, facilitating sampling and production at vendor factories.

Key Responsibilities:
- Make prototype patterns and samples from designer's drawing and specifications.
- Prepare costing patterns and information for initial costing.
- Prepare patterns in CAD for transmission to vendor factories.
- Complete test sections of products for illustration of construction and problem solving.
- Utilize CAD (Optitex) system for development, transmission, and achieving of all patterns.
- Provide technical support during Sample/prototype production in NYWS.

- Enable Design and Merchandising decisions and line finalization through innovation, quick turnaround and Coach quality standards with prototypes sampling of any construction and fabrication

Education & Experience Requirements:
- 5+ years’ experience in HANDBAG patternmaking and product development.
- The ability to find creative, innovative professional solutions to design and construction problems
- Experienced with both leather and man-made materials, lined and unlined.
- Ability to make the entire sample: cutting, skiving, table work, stitching.
- Knowledgeable about leather goods manufacturing equipment and custom configuration.
- Read and write English required; Spanish and/or Italian helpful.
- Ability to work well with others.
- Ability to work well with timeline goals.
- CAD pattern drafting and digitizing experience important.
- Computer/E-mail skills recommended.

Problem Solving & Decision Making:
- Work out new style proportions and construction with Design and PD.
- Construct prototypes with product cost savings in mind.
- Recommend improvements in construction & hardware for new styles.
