POSITION: Collections Rep
LOCATION: Austin, Texas 78729
HOURS: 8 hours per day 40 hours per week
DURATION: 6 Months
PAY: $16.00/hr

The Collections Representative will perform a range of collection duties including monitoring the status of aging accounts, and following established policies and procedures to obtain payment on past due accounts via email or phone outreach through a primary dialer. These duties include but are not limited to responding to email inquiries, inbound and outbound phone communication as well as interfacing with various internal departments.

The position will require keeping current and ensuring compliance with the Fair Debt Collection Practice Act and the Fair Credit Reporting Act while performing said duties. The Collections Representative provides exceptional customer support, guidance and program knowledge through high quality, positive interactions with every customer to obtain the best possible result.

Job Responsibilities

• Contact customers via automated dialer system and/or email transmission in an efficient and effective manner in an effort to identify payment options on past due accounts to bring account in positive standing.
• Build and maintain solid relationships with our customers by phone or email.
• Construct individually tailored solutions for all facets of the customer’s repayment management through the use of education and debt repayment plans.
• Research and resolve inquiries verbally, in writing, and on-line.
• Responsible for ensuring eBay is in compliance with the Fair Debt Collection Practice Act and the Fair Credit Reporting Act as outlined.
• Assist with the creation and maintaining of a comprehensive Collection program including constantly enhancing processes and controls.
• Processing queue items in a timely manner.
• Maintain professional interaction with all client's personnel and customers at all times.
• Assist management staff with implementation of procedures.
• Maintain and promote a positive attitude while meeting production and quality goals.
• Display initiative to take on additional responsibilities geared towards professional growth and development.
• Perform related duties as assigned.
• Remain flexible and adaptable to changes in processes and workload.
• Ability to make a discretionary decision based on research.
• Possess a disciplined approach to working in a highly targeted environment.

Job Requirements

• Minimum Three (3)+ years of collections and customer service experience
• Portfolio experience preferred – B2B
• Strong negotiation and problem solving skills
• Strong written and verbal communication skills Ability to communicate effectively via email transmission and phone by utilizing proper grammar and phrasing.
• Well-developed sense of urgency and follow through.
• Strong organizational skills while possessing a disciplined approach to working in a highly targeted environment.
• Ability to adapt to an ever-changing environment which requires flexibility, especially around processes.
• Ability to quickly and effectively learn and adapt to new software technologies.
• Proficient with external systems and software (Microsoft Office - Outlook, Word, Excel).
• Advanced skill in Microsoft Excel preferred
• Ability to develop and maintain professional working relationships
• Experience in an Internet company, financial institution or transaction processor preferred
• Experience buying and/or selling on ecommerce internet is preferred
