TITLE: Store Communication Specialist -


The Store Communication Specialist is responsible for editing, maintaining, and executing Store communication in a clearly-defined and brand appropriate voice. This includes managing the approval, distribution, and tracking of resulting communication in a variety of formats (print, video, online). Must have a strong passion for retail and advocacy for the field and their success, and use that passion as the lens through which all communication is developed and implemented.

Field Communication and Advocacy

  • Design and produce quality written and visual communication (manuals, newsletters, posters, task management communication, guides, surveys, etc.) to meet the needs of the various functions of the Operations group.
  • Develop strong relationships with field partners and leverage those relationships to ensure communication methods and content are impactful, timely and relevant.
  • Develop and implement communication strategies and timelines for rolling out new programs or technology to Stores for effective adoption. Ensure all parties are in agreement and held accountable for adhering to these timelines and strategies.
  • Work cross-functionally and collaboratively with business partners (such as Operations, Finance, Merchandising, Loss Prevention and Marketing) to mitigate change management and issues with new process or system implementations.
  • Maintain appropriate language to support the culture of our two brands.
  • Strive to continually improve the effectiveness of communication through Store visits and leadership feedback.
  •  Support event planning for and execution of annual Store Manager and field leadership meetings. 

Project Management and Administration

  • Prepare and publish updates to procedures, forms and manuals for all Stores (i.e. gather technical information, research procedures, layouts and graphics illustrations, ensure Subject Matter Expert review).
  • Manage assigned projects from conception to completion, including timeline and content development, review, graphic design and archiving.
  • Follow established process for project tracking, ensuring all available information is accurate and relevant.
  • Maintain calendars for milestones and releases for annual, quarterly, monthly and weekly communication.
  • Seek feedback and obtain consensus from partners and supervisors from project initiation through final product approval.
  • Create, propose, and present effective communication solutions to all levels comfortably, including senior management. 


  • College degree and 3 years of experience in relevant field
  • Solid written and verbal communication skills, including knowledge of APA style guidelines
  • Ability to effectively interact with business partners, at all levels, autonomously and with confidence
  • Stays current with new communications technologies and processes, is naturally curious and is focused on continuous improvement
  • Advanced PC skills and understanding of Microsoft Office applications, including Publisher, as well as the Adobe Suite, including Adobe Illustrator and InDesign, and general comfort with technology and systems
  • Strong project management skills
  • Understanding of retail Store Operations preferred
  • Ability to understand and interpret functions and systems used by the Stores
  • Ability to collaborate with diverse groups and individuals and get work done through both formal and informal channel
