Responsibilities, Qualifications, & Details:                          

  • Act as a resource coordinator to support, expand, and enhance the employment and training services provided to job seekers in rural areas of North Texas
  • Convene community partners such as schools and rural service providers to develop strategies to improve the quality and/or availability of pre-employment services
  • Increase community and system awareness of resources and activities available to job seekers
  • Develop and coordinate events and other workshops or activities to provide pre-employment preparation services
  • Organize events and activities to engage employers in the pre-employment process (i.e. job fairs, hiring events, advisory groups, etc.)
  • Collaborate with partner agencies to develop work-based learning opportunities for job seekers
  • Assist job seekers in registering in the state’s online job matching site, and provide technical assistance in using the job matching system to obtain optimum results
  • Use internet, career exploration and resume software as well as other software and resource materials to assist customers with their job search efforts
  • Provide customers with information and referrals to the labor market, local workforce system programs, education and training activities
  • Facilitate workshops and/or classroom activities by utilizing effective presentation and group management skills
  • Disseminate information about available services
  • May also give explanation of service requirements, data gathering, customer eligibility assessment and case management
  • General personal computer and technology skills required
     

Must Have:

  • Bachelor’s degree in social work, human services, or related field strongly preferred.
  • Two years of full-time qualifying experience in gathering information, interviewing, counseling, social work, or workforce development issues and programs.
  • Must have a valid driver's license and maintain a satisfactory motor vehicle record (MVR) and minimum requirements of insurability as required by law
  • Knowledge of community resources and administrative procedures preferred
  • Skills in the use of electronic data and/or word processing equipment and software and other automated equipment required
  • Ability to communicate effectively

 

SHIFT: M-F 8AM-5PM
