Job Description:

Responsibilities, Qualifications, & Details:
Responsible for ensuring that the company and its contractors provide the individuals, groups, communities and local government authorities with timely, consistent and accurate information regarding the company's project/ operations and conduct direct consultation with the local communities as a basis to identify concerns. Conduct public awareness campaign/general information sessions. Ensure community development investments are aligned with company’s strategy and approach. Provide guidance on potential strategic mitigation measures
for impacts on communities. Prepare reports regarding community relations. Works with moderate work direction and is skilled and knowledgeable to the position.

Job Duties:

Manages community relations programs in a dedicated portfolio including employee involvement in signature programs such as Junior Achievement, a nonprofit dedicated to financial literacy, and Rebuilding Together Houston, an organization that provides crucial home repairs to low-income homeowners. Portfolio awards $1M in charitable contributions annually
Grant making: Works with non-profit agency administrators and coordinates approval process of charitable contributions associated with Exxon Mobil Corporation and ExxonMobil Foundation’s Houston community relations portfolio
Maintain documentation of past contributions and contracts
Supports ExxonMobil executives’ involvement on community boards through briefings, event logistics and communications materials including remarks and media talking points
Advises outside public relations agency and guide media outreach efforts for select Houston-area community relations activities, including the drafting of media talking points, news releases and social media posts
Leverages partnerships to further business operations, corporate reputation and recognition
Plans employee appreciation events and Houston-area volunteer activities
Coordinates employee, executive and community partner attendance for galas and special events
Promotes community volunteer activities via company employee networks
Maintains strong relationships with external partners and serve as company liaison as needed
Assists with community engagement strategy and programs that support ExxonMobil business objectives while enhancing its image and reputation
Works collaboratively with other public affairs groups on communications, social media, etc.
Serves as an external ambassador for the brand and its reputation at community engagements
Carry out project programs with minimum supervision
Reports to the Manager of Community Relations


3+ yeras of Public Relations/ Community relations experience
Oil and Gas Industry experience
University Degree in Social Sciences, Socioeconomics or Public Relations backgrounds
Strong interpersonal effectiveness, communications, writing, and editing skills
