Compensation Analyst

Adecco's client, a large healthcare provider in the Mid-Atlantic, is looking for a Compensation Analyst in their Owings Mills, MD office. This is a 3 month assignment, with the possibility of being extended by 6 months after. 

PURPOSE:  Administer and conduct analytical compensation support in accordance with established guidelines and procedures. The Compensation Analyst will assist in developing, implementing, and providing analytical expertise in the design, development, and implementation of all compensation strategies and programs for the organization, including the merit/base pay program and all incentive plans.


PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES:
Under the guidance of the Sr. Director, Total Rewards, the incumbent's accountabilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
        
1. 50%     Provides compensation support to assigned divisions, keeping the customer vision and values at the forefront of decision making and action, performing duties such as:  job evaluation, assisting in development of job descriptions, approving salary offers and providing knowledge on Compensation issues in a timely manner and according to service level agreements such as MarketPay maintenance and Employee Recognition invoices.

2. 20%    Participate and analyze industry specific and general market surveys to ensure competitive market position of salaries. Designs, conducts, and participates in salary and related compensation surveys, both formal and informal.  Analyzes survey results and makes recommendations.

3. 15%     Manages ad hoc and recurring reports to provide data and information for compensation related projects, and to monitor CareFirst practices for internal equity, compliance with Federal and State laws, and consistency with sound human resource policies.        

4. 10%     Provide proactive support on projects such as CAD, incentive plans, sales compensation and other special reward and recognition programs. Participate in PeopleSoft systems testing as needed to support any systems updates or enhancements.

5. 5%     Keeps informed of trends and developments in compensation and the healthcare/insurance industry in order gain business acumen as it relates to the ability to make decisions that are valuable to the client. Attends special training programs and seminars. 
  

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY:  This position has no direct reports.

Provides companywide compensation support.


QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:
Required:  Bachelor¿s degree or equivalent experience plus 1-3 years of experience as a Compensation Analyst.  Experience with job evaluation, salary surveys, equity analyses and other Compensation concepts.

Abilities/ Skills:  Excellent critical thinking, communication, interpersonal, analytical, problem solving, mathematical, organizational, and PC skills.  Must function as a team player and have the ability to handle multiple priorities.  Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office products, including Excel and PowerPoint. The ability to make thoughtful business decisions. The ability to understand how the various functional elements of the business interact to achieve goals.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

The employee is primarily seated while performing the duties of the position.  Occasional walking or standing is required.  The hands are regularly used to write, type, key and handle or feel small controls and objects.  The employee must frequently talk and hear.
