POSITION: Compensation Analyst – Human Resources
LOCATION: Plainsboro, NJ
HOURS: Full-time
DURATION: 6 - Months, with potential to extend or go permanent

Responsible for supporting design, implementation, communication, and administration of compensation programs to support Client’s strategic objectives and meet all legal and financial requirements. Provides advice and counsel to HR Generalists and Recruiters on matters involving compensation levels, programs, processes and procedures. Includes broad-based and sales compensation on a global basis; may support executive compensation initiatives.

Under direct supervision of VP of Compensation and Benefits.

Job Evaluation: Ensure partnering with HR generalists/leaders and Talent Acquisitions in the job evaluation process. Manage the review of job descriptions, slot jobs into consistent global structure, market price job and compare to internal peers to advise on all components of compensation for offers and promotion.

Year-End Process: Manage the global compensation planning process (merit, annual cash incentives and long-term stock incentives) to reinforce a pay-for-performance culture. Conduct analyses and develop reports for senior management and the Board Compensation Committee summarizing compensation planning recommendations, conducting training for HR and managers, etc.

Comp Technology & Data Management: Provide recommendations relative to vendor/product selections for surveys, technology tools, and services to build a technical infrastructure to optimize the management of compensation data and programs. Advise HR Leaders and generalists to help ensure that all colleague data in Oracle is current and correct, to enable timely and accurate reporting and analysis.

Surveys and Market Data: Oversee management of company’s participation in, and application of, compensation surveys. Identify compensation trends in the medical technology talent markets and general industry to ensure the company’s competitive position and ability to attract and retain and engage talent around the world.

Corporate Transactions: Participate in due diligence process for mergers, acquisitions and/or divestitures. Provide leadership in order to speed the integration of acquired employees. Develop transition procedures, data templates and standard communication vehicles around corporate transactions related to total rewards.

Performs other duties as assigned (e.g., ad-hoc reporting and analysis, special projects, contribute to communications).
The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required for his position.


5 plus years of experience in compensation analysis, preferably in a global publicly-traded company. A combination of corporate and consulting experience is preferred.
Education: Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university in a related discipline (e.g., finance, economics, business) required; advanced degree – or in progress - preferred.
Certification: Certified Compensation Professional (CCP) – or in progress - preferred.
Subject matter expertise required: online compensation planning systems and modeling tools, survey and pay planning tools; advanced Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint; Access/database and report writing skills desired.
Experience working with Oracle is strongly preferred; SAP or other ERP is acceptable.
Experience using Mercer Pay Monitor/SIRS and Towers Watson global workforce database preferred.


Knowledge of global compensation principles, pay practices, compensation trends, and relevant regulations required.
At least one year of sales compensation experience is highly preferred.
Absolute commitment to confidentiality, and passion for data integrity and accuracy in all matters.
Extreme attention to detail, accuracy, organization and follow-up as well as delivering on commitments and deadlines.
Professional, collaborative and consultative approach suitable for partnering with internal constituents and external consultants/vendors to deliver successful outcomes on complicated issues.
Strong analytical thinker, critical thinker. Naturally curious and skilled at proactively connecting the dots; able to define and solve complex problems quickly.
Knowledge of relevant U.S. laws and regulations (e.g., FLSA, Equal Pay Act, Title VII, Tax, GAAP, SEC) related to compensation programs as well as a general understanding of international laws and practices, including appropriate awareness of differences between countries.
