Contract Administrator

Responsibilities, Qualifications, & Details:                
Provides paralegal support to various businesses in the preparation and negotiation of a variety of agreements, including clinical, research, professional services, and other contracts. Additionally, you will support our businesses with response to legal questions, fair market value/compliance direction, and other ad-hoc requests.


You are responsible for (but not limited to)

• Working directly with business clients under the direction of the business attorneys to draft from template agreements a variety of contracts, including, clinical study agreements, research agreements, professional services agreements (including speaker agreements), and consulting agreements.

• Reviewing and confirming the business’ fair market valuation for healthcare provider agreements is consistent with company established requirements; escalate as needed;

• First line review and negotiation of any counter-party edits, collaborating with lead attorney support as needed.

• Conduct legal review of marketing communication material and advertising in accordance with approved claims lists.

• Meet with business teams, as appropriate, for contract and marketing matters.

• Maintaining and updating files in the department’s matter management and project tracking databases; tracking and driving high volume contract requests to completion.

• Assisting with the preparation, execution, and filing of required legal documents and the administration of day to day law department activities as necessary.

• Assisting with due diligence fact-finding related to discovery issues and other matters, including gathering facts and documentation from personnel in other departments, as needed.


Must Have:

• Bachelor’s degree, paralegal certificate, or related experience required

• 3+ years of relevant experience required; in house law department experience strongly preferred

• Strong written and oral communication skills, including the ability to communicate effectively with internal clients and colleagues and contracting third parties

• Strong organizational and project management skills; ability to accomplish multiple tasks within agreed upon timeframes through effective prioritization of duties and functions in a fast-paced environment; knowledge of LEAN processes for management of high volume of contracts a plus

• Self-motivated; able to work both independently to complete tasks and respond to department requests and with others to utilize their resources and knowledge to identify high quality solutions

• Strong attention to detail in the review, processing, and drafting of department documents; ability to utilize detail and depth of legal understanding to assist with training materials

• High degree of proficiency with MS Office and internet applications (including Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, Excel).
