Adecco has teamed up with a highly reputable company who is looking for a Controls Engineer II in Madera, CA. This is a direct-hire opportunity, with a competitive compensation and benefits package!




  • Creates, reviews and approves designs, drawings, BOM’s, specifications, etc. and ensures that designs meet specifications, standards and performance requirements.
  • Develops unique solutions for complex technical problems that may include the design of new systems or development of solutions having few or no precedents
  • Regularly assigned ownership of multiple projects with time-sensitive completion schedules.
  • Works with Application Engineering and Customer Service to provide detailed information for quoting machines and parts


Duties and Responsibilities

Uses Visual Basic & C++ to write application code

Traveling to customer sites to perform controls start-up and troubleshooting of food processing equipment and operator training

Write PLC programs to control industrial food processing equipment

Creating functional OIT screens for operator interaction

Expert knowledge of at least one JBT product lines and applications and significant knowledge of most technologies, products & applications produced/offered by JBT.

Solid understanding of the divisions' businesses and the internal and external economic factors affecting the businesses. Broad understanding of internal economic factors affecting assignment areas (costs, margins, profit impact of decisions).

Uses independent judgment, consistently and clearly demonstrates creativity and innovation in finding solutions and alternative.

Writes department process, procedures and policies as required.

Ensures that development costs, project costs, and schedules are met.

Utilizes available technical resources throughout JBT and outside institutions.

Creates and reviews, designs, drawings, BOMs, specifications, etc. and ensures that projects meet specifications, standards and performance requirements within area of expertise.

Prepares documentation, information, and communications such as ECN’s, e-mails, SharePoint entries and engineering specifications.

Plans and defines project schedule.

Interprets and applies relevant policies and procedures.

Leader in setting objectives for projects.

Assist with the development of new professionals.

Demonstrates excellent organizational skills.

May be required to travel to various JBT locations

Identifies root cause of problems. Develops alternative solutions and communicates associated benefits and risks.

Uses advanced product line knowledge to help Application Engineering and Customer Service create complex quotes for machines and parts.

Attends appropriate industry related professional society meetings and functions in order to stay informed of and make good use of new technology, products, and personal development opportunities.



  • BS in Electrical Engineering or Computer Science
  • At least (4) years relevant experience in industrial machine controls.
  • Solid understanding of PC based control systems with Microsoft O/S
  • Ability to program in Visual Basic and/or C++ preferred
  • Expert in reading machine control electrical schematics
  • Ability to program PLC’s & HMI’s
  • Ability to configure industrial machine controls, including VFD Drives
  • Demonstrated ability to independently create functional & cost effective designs/processes that meet complex specification requirements.
  • Has or can obtain a valid Passport
  • PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Describe amount & frequency of physical requirements of the position (i.e. lifting, pushing, climbing)
    • Spend most of the time in an office environment.
    • Spends 65% of the time sitting and operating a computer or workstation, 5% percent in the shop and 30% at customer sites.
    • Possible exposure to hazards such as noise, heavy equipment, temperature extremes, chemicals, etc. while working on the shop floor, assembly areas and field service applications.
    • Physical demands when working at customer sites may include the ability to bend, stoop, kneel, push, pull, reach above shoulders, walk and lift up to 50 pounds throughout a workday. May carry materials up to 50 pounds for distances up to 20’.
    • May be subject to inclement weather conditions.
